iQOO has launched the Neo 8 series in China. The company has launched two new premium smartphones in its home country, namely the Neo 8 and Neo 8 Pro. The Neo 8 Pro is the first smartphone in the Neo series family to come with a Pro moniker. Both smartphones come with some premium hardware under the hood. The Neo 8 series features MediaTek’s flagship SoC, the Dimensity 9200+. The company has also packed in top-of-the-line LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage.
iQOO is expected to launch the Neo 8 series later this year in India. While we wait for the launch details for the Indian market, here’s a look at the iQOO Neo 8 series price, specifications and features announced at the event in China.

In terms of hardware, both, the Neo 8 and Neo 8 Pro feature a 6.78-inch 1.5K resolution display. The AMOLED display offers support for up to 144Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ certification. The screen is flat and has a hole-punch cutout at the top centre for the front camera.
Under the hood, the Neo 8 Pro has a MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ SoC. The device is claimed to score 13,63,206 points on AnTuTu, which is currently the highest in any smartphone. The Neo 8 5G has a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. Both phones feature Vivo’s custom-developed Image Signal Processor (ISP), the Vivo V1+ as well.
The devices also feature a large 5002mm² vapour-chamber cooling system to dissipate heat generated while performing intensive tasks. Both devices pack a 5000mAh battery with support for 120W fast charging out of the box. iQOO claims that the phone can charge up to 75 per cent battery in about 15 minutes. There is no support for wireless charging.
Both devices run Android 13 out of the box. There is a layer of Origin OS 3 on top of Android. The phones also sport a dual-camera setup on the back. The Neo 8 Pro has a 50MP main 1/1.56-inch Sony IMX866V camera sensor with support for optical image stabilisation. It also features an 8MP ultra-wide camera sensor. The Neo 8 5G, on the other hand, does not get an ultra-wide camera. It instead features a 50MP main camera and 2MP portrait sensor. For selfies, the devices feature a 16MP front camera.
At the moment, there is no word on the launch of the Neo 8 series in India. The company has confirmed to launch the Neo 7 Pro 5G in India. The device is likely a rebadged version of the Neo 7 Racing Edition, which was launched in China earlier this year.
