iQOO has unveiled a new U-series smartphone in China. The company has launched the iQOO U5x as its new budget 4G smartphone in the country. In terms of design, the smartphone looks a lot similar to the Vivo T1 5G and the iQOO Z6 5G launched in India. It has a rectangular camera module on the back. The phone also sports a waterdrop notch at the top of the display. The U5x has a polycarbonate body and comes in two colours. iQOO U5x Price
iQOO has launched the U5x in two storage options in China. The base model has 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. It is priced at CNY 849 (roughly Rs 10,200). There is also an 8GB RAM option with 128GB of internal storage. This storage option is priced at CNY 1,049 (roughly Rs 12,600). The phone arrives in two colour options – Polar Blue and Star Black.
There is no word on the U5x’s launch outside China at the moment.
Specifications and Features
The U5x comes with a 6.51-inch IPS LCD with a waterdrop notch on top for the front camera. It has an HD+ resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels. The chin is slightly thick compared to other bezels, resulting in a screen-to-body ratio of 89 percent. Being a budget smartphone, the phone has a standard 60Hz refresh rate display.
The device draws power from a Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 SoC. It is paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. There is an option to expand the storage via a microSD card slot.
On the back, there is a rectangular camera module hosting a dual-camera setup. The phone has a 13MP main camera and a 2MP depth sensor. The LED flash is located inside the camera module. For selfies and video calls, the phone’s waterdrop notch houses an 8MP front camera.
Under the hood, the phone packs a 5000 mAh battery. It comes with support for only 10W charging via a micro-USB port. There is support for AI face unlock along with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. The phone boots Android 11 out of the box with a layer of Origin OS on top.
