Itel has launched a new budget smartphone in India. The company has launched the Itel A49 in India, which comes after the A48 and A47 launched previously. The new budget smartphone has been priced under Rs 7,000. Itel claims that the device is the most affordable smartphone in India to come with a 6.6-inch HD+ waterdrop notch.

Itel has launched the A49 as its new budget smartphone offering in India. The smartphone comes in a single storage configuration with 2GB of RAM. It is priced at Rs 6,499 and offers 32GB of inbuilt memory.
The phone comes in three colour options – Crystal Purple, Dome Blue, and Sky Cyan. As part of the launch offers, consumers can avail of a free one-time screen replacement of a broken screen within 100 days of purchase.
Specifications and features
The A49 features a 6.6-inch display with a waterdrop notch on top. It has an HD+ resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels. Being an entry-level offering, the phone has a 60Hz refresh rate support. It comes with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Users can expand the storage up to 128GB using a microSD card slot.
The phone packs a 4000 mAh battery. There is no mention of any fast charging support. We expect the phone to support 5W/ 10W charging. There is a 1.4GHz quad-core processor. The exact name of the processor remains unknown. The phone runs Android 11 (Go Edition) out of the box. It comes with support for AI Face Unlock and a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.
On the back, there is a pill-shaped camera module. It has a dual-camera setup with the LED flash modules placed inside the module. The phone has a 5MP main camera and a VGA sensor.
