
Reliance Annual General Meeting (AGM) will take place on August 29 in India. This will be the 45th edition of the AGM and is expected to feature a load of announcements from Mukesh Ambani. Last year at the 44th edition of AGM, the chairman of Reliance foundation announced JioPhone Next, which is still one of the most affordable phones in India.
Reliance is expected to announce various upcoming projects for its telecom business, Jio. With 5G arriving shortly, the company is said to be launching a Jio Phone 5G and Jio 5G at the 45th edition of the AGM. Besides these, the company is also expected to announce various announcements in each sector. Here’re the technology related announcements that you can expect Reliance to announce at the 45th Annual General Meeting.
What to Expect at Reliance 45th AGM?
Jio 5G
After becoming the highest bidder in the 5G auctions, Jio announced that it will soon launch the 5G network in 9 cities first, and then in 1000 cities. The telecom operator spent over a whopping Rs 80,000 crore for the 5G spectrums. Out of which, also bought the 700MHz band, which is said to be giving the best network. Other spectrums include 800MHz, 1800MHz, 3300MHz and 26GHz bands. Jio’s top rival, Airtel has planned to launch 5G network this month in India, so we can expect Jio to make the 5G announcement first at the 45th AGM. Jio plans to use 5G network in each sector, the telecom operator has conducted tests for various 5G use cases such as AR/ VR, low-latency cloud gaming, network slicing and multi-tenancy for video delivery, TV streaming, connected hospitals and industrial applications.

Jio Phone 5G
Besides the 5G announcement, the other major launch at the event could be the Jio Phone 5G. The company, last year launched JioPhone Next. With 5G around the corner, we can expect Reliance to launch its successor called the Jio Phone 5G. The phone’s specification has leaked in the past and it is said to sport a 6.5-inch display with a HD+ resolution of 1600 x 720 pixel. The device is expected to be equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 480 processor and could pack 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. It will also have microSD card support for further storage expansion.
The JioPhone 5G is said to boot a customized version of Android 12 out of the box. Last year, the JioPhone Next was announced with PragatiOS which was a collaboration between Jio and Google. The handset could have a Google Assistant support, read-aloud text feature, instant translation via Google Lens and Google Translate. It will also include Jio’s digital suite of apps such as MyJio, JioTV, JioCinema, and JioSaavan.
The Jio Phone 5G is said to consist a dual camera setup on the back with the primary being a 13MP primary sensor and the secondary being a 2MP macro sensor. The handset might flaunt a 8MP selfie camera. It is expected to pack a 5000mAh battery which will offer 18W fast charging support.
