JioSaavn Music App Lands on Amazon Fire TV Stick, Users Can Now Enjoy 45 Million Songs, Audio Shows

Amazon Fire TV Stick, one of the most famous streaming devices in India, finally joins hands with the Jio Saavn Music app and now, the users of the stick can get to enjoy more than 45 million songs and audio shows on Jio Saavn by using the stick. Up until now, the Amazon Fire TV Stick provided support for almost all the major streaming services like Netflix, YouTube, Prime Video, Disney+, Apple TV, and HBO and somehow, JioSaavn, which itself is a fan-favorite app when it comes to music streaming, was missing out.

Jio Saavn music streaming app has finally landed on Amazon Fire TV Stick

The news broke courtesy of a couple of tweets made by the users of the service yesterday. The JioSaavn music app is now available on product page to be downloaded and installed for the Amazon Fire TV Stick. The app is available free of cost and it sizes at 10.6MB. Below are the official permissions that the app would require:

Application Permissions:

  • Open network sockets
  • Access information about networks
  • PowerManager WakeLocks to keep processor from sleeping or screen from dimming
  • Receive message via Amazon Device
  • Get notified that the operating system has finished booting
  • Record audio
  • com_android_providers_tv_permission_READ_EPG_DATA
  • Allows an application to receive messages via Google Cloud Messaging
  • com_android_providers_tv_permission_WRITE_EPG_DATA
  • Minimum Operating System: Android 5.0

The inclusion of Jio Saavn to the Amazon Fire TV Stick might help the music streaming app get some more installs as it has recently got toppled by YouTube Music in India as the most tuned-in music streaming app.

Just in case you are unaware, the JioSaavn music streaming app comes in both free, as well as a paid version. The free version of the app is ads-supported and if you want an ads-free experience, the Jio Saavn premium subscription starts at Rs99 a month. If, in case, you want to go for the yearly plan, the same would fetch Rs399 for a full year from your pocket. The premium version (or the Pro version as it is called as) not only prevents ads from showing up during the time you are listening to your favorite music, it also lets you download an unlimited number of songs on your device for offline playback. Furthermore, the Pro version comes with a much-better, higher quality playback option and a host of exclusive & original Content. You can also listen to the songs played on the Jio Saavn platform on assistants like Sonos, Alexa & More if you opt for the Pro variant.
