A new report by 91mobiles claims that the operator is planning to increase the price of the Jio Phone. Furthermore, the company might introduce a new recharge plan with the feature phone pretty soon. JioPhone to get a price hike
Currently, the Jio Phone price in India is Rs 699. However, with the latest price hike, the phone will be available for Rs 999, the publication learnt from its retail sources. The first-generation feature phone will start reselling in India pretty soon as retailers have enough units for sale. The report adds that the company is likely to make an announcement about this the price in coming days.
Furthermore, the telecom operator is looking to sell the feature phone with new Rs 125 recharge plan. This will further hike the price of the Jio Phone up to as much as Rs 1,124. The publication was able to get the images of JioPhone retail box, which reveals that it will be powered by Qualcomm chipset. To recall, the feature phone was being sold with Spreadtrum processor. However, it seems that the operator has opted for Qualcomm chipsets.

Jio Phone offers a non-touchscreen 2.4-inch display with a screen resolution of 320 x 240 pixels. The handset offers a 2MP rear shooter accompanied by a 0.3Mp front-facing camera. The phone makes use of a dual-core processor that is paired with 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage.
