JioTV is a great alternative to replace multiple apps at once to catch live channels. JioTV can replace Voot, SonyLIV, and more as long as you are on the app to watch Live content like cricket, daily serials, news channels, and more. This platform by Reliance Jio is available for Android, iOS, and Jio Phone users and on Android alone, the app has over 100 million downloads. The app is offered on a free-to-use basis for all Jio users.
The feature-filled app is now getting a new functionality called the Jio Watch party. This as you might have guessed by that name allows you to watch content with your friends and family, who are far away from you.
JioTV Watchparty for Cricket
The Watchparty is slowly rolling out to all JioTV users and for now, the feature is applicable only for cricket. Once you start watching the match (for example Ind vs Eng match), you will get an option on the screen below called “Watch Party”. You can just tap the icon to get started. You can either create your own watch part or join a watch party created by your friend/family using the link.
You can try out the JioTV Watchparty mode during the third and final ODI of the England vs India series, which will be held on July 17th in Manchester. For those who wish to get this feature, make sure you are on the latest version of the app on Android and iOS. As of now, we could spot the feature only for a live cricket match, Jio might roll out the watch party to more content in the near future. However, there is no word on the same yet.
Further, JioMeet, which is another product from Jio is the platform that’s enabling this Watchparty for JioTV users. JioMeet for those who are unaware is Jio’s video conferencing platform available as an app and it can also be accessed via a website 一 similar to Gooogle Meet.
