Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BGIS) 2023 Details
Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BGIS) 2023 is set to be the first official BGMI Esports tournament since the return of the game. It is organized by Krafton and is touted to be the biggest battle royale Esports tournament in India with a massive prize pool of Rs 2 crore. It will be a two-month-long event from July 20 to October 14.
The professional BGMI Esports teams like Team GodLike, Enigma Gaming, Global Esports, Reckoning Esports, and Blind Esports will participate in The Grind for an opportunity to qualify for the main event. This phase is already live from July 20 and will go on until August 20. There are a total of 256 invited teams that will play The Grind and only the top 64 teams will move to the second and third rounds of the tournament.
The best thing about BGIS is that it is not restricted to professional Esports teams. It gives an opportunity to anyone who plays BGMI with his squad to qualify for the tournament through in-game qualifiers. Krafton will open BGIS 2023 in-game qualifier registrations from July 24 to August 2. The team will perform a verification check on all registered teams and begin in-game qualifiers on August 10 which will last until August 17.
Each team will have to play 15 classic matches during the qualifiers and the top 10 match scores will be used for rankings. A total of 2,048 teams will qualify for the next phase where they will compete in six rounds. These teams will be divided into a group of 16 teams where they will also compete with professional teams to move forward.
BGIS 2023 grand finals will take place from October 12 to October 14. It is the first-ever BGIS competition where the grand finale will be a LAN event. Krafton says the final event will also be open to fans they can join to support their favourite teams and players.
