The new Ryzen 9000 Series gets four new SKUs under the Ryzen 9, 7, and 5 lineups. They offer up to 16% faster instructions per cycle (IPC) compared to its predecessors. The new processors are designed for the latest AM5 socket. Here are the detailed specifications of each CPU.

Processor Cores/Threads Base Clock Boost Clock L2 cache L3 cache TDP
Ryzen 9 9950X 16C / 32T 4.3GHz 5.7GHz 16MB 64MB 170W
Ryzen 9 9900X 12C / 24T 4.4GHz 5.6GHz 12MB 64MB 120W
Ryzen 7 9700X 8C / 16T 3.8GHz 5.5GHz 8MB 32MB 65W
Ryzen 5 9600X 6C / 12T 3.9GHz 5.4GHz 6MB 32MB 65W

The Ryzen 9 9950X is the top-end variant in this lineup featuring 16 cores and 32 threads with boost clock speeds of up to 5.7GHz. AMD says that it is the fastest consumer-grade desktop CPU.

The Ryzen 9 9900X has 12 cores and 24 threads and supports maximum boosted clock speeds of up to 5.6GHz. The Ryzen 7 9700X has 8 cores and 16 threads with max-boost clock speeds of up to 5.5GHz.

The entry-level Ryzen 5 9600X features 6 cores and 12 threads. It also supports clock boost speeds of up to 5.4GHz. There’s no Ryzen 3 model in this new Ryzen 9000 Series.

AMD has not revealed the pricing of its new processors. It is revealed that the Ryzen 9000 Series desktop CPUs will be available for DIY custom builds by July 2024 in international markets. We can expect them to be available in India by August-September. However, AMD has not shared an official launch timeline for the Indian market.

AMD also announced two new chipsets for its AM5 socket, namely the AMD X870E and the AMD X870. They provide native support for USB-4, PCIe Gen 5, and WiFi 7. AMD says that the AM5 socket will be supported up to 2027.

New Ryzen 5000 Series CPUs

AMD also announced two new Ryzen 5000 Series CPUs for its older AM4 socket. These processors are based on the Zen 3 architecture and are a part of AMD’s Ryzen 5000XT Series. Here are the detailed specifications of the new processors.
