Apple has launched its new Macbook Pro lineup with the M4, M4 Pro, and the M4 Max chips. These are compatible with Apple Intelligence features. The MacBook Pro with M4 Pro and M4 Max come with Thunderbolt 5 support. The new MacBooks are capable of offering a battery life of up to 24 hours. Here are the details.
Apple MacBook Pro M4 Lineup: Price and Availability in India
Pricing for the new MacBook Pro models with M4 family chips starts at Rs 1,69,900 in India. These are available in Space Black and Silver colours. Here are the price details of all the new models:

The new MacBook Pro M4 lineup is currently available for pre-orders on the Apple website. Retail sales will begin on November 8, including Apple Authorized Resellers and Apple’s Exclusive Stores in Mumbai BKC and Saket Delhi.
Apple is also offering student discounts of up to Rs 15,000 on the new MacBook Pro models.
Apple MacBook Pro M4 Lineup: What’s New?
The MacBook Pro is available in 14-inch and 16-inch screen sizes. It comes in three chipset options: M4, M4 Pro, and M4 Max. All three processors are based on a 3nm architecture and introduce huge upgrades in single-threaded and multi-threaded performance.
MacBook Pro with M4
The MacBook Pro with the M4 chip features a 10-core CPU. It consists of four performance cores and six efficiency cores. It is paired with a 10-core GPU and a 16-core Neural Engine. This variant comes with up to 32GB of RAM with a 120GB/s bandwidth.
The MacBook Pro M4 is 1.8x faster in image editing and 3.4x better in Blender rendering compared to the MacBook Pro M1 13-inch. It also improves the edit detection performance in Adobe Premiere Pro by 1.7 times.
MacBook Pro with M4 Pro
The MacBook Pro with the M4 Pro chip has a 14-core CPU which consists of 10 performance cores and four efficiency cores. It has a 20-core GPU which is twice as fast as the M4 chip. It is available with up to 48GB RAM. This variant also has support for Thunderbolt 5 enabling data transfer speeds of up to 120GB/s.
The MacBook Pro with M4 Pro offers 3x faster performance in rendering, structural engineering, and data modelling, and a 1.9x improvement in DNA Sequencing compared to the MacBook Pro M1.
MacBook Pro with M4 Max
This top-of-the-line MacBook Pro with the M4 Max chip comes with a 16-core CPU with 12 performance cores and four efficiency cores. The top model has a 40-core GPU with a memory bandwidth of 500GB/s. It also comes in a 14-core CPU and a 32-core GPU for the base model. It is available with up to 128GB of RAM.
The new MacBook Pro with M4 Max is 3.5x faster in rendering, 2.2x faster in code compiling, and offers 1.6x improvement in video processing compared to the MacBook Pro M1 Max.
The biggest upgrade with this variant is its capability to run on-device AI models with up to 200 billion parameters. Apple says that the M4 Max chip is the most powerful processor making it capable of performance-oriented workload which was previously possible only on a desktop.
Coming to the common specifications, the new MacBook Pros feature an all-new nano-texture display with a Liquid XDR panel. It is designed to reduce glare and reflections. This display supports SDR content playback up to 1000 nits and HDR up to 1600 nits.
The new MacBook Pro models come with a new 12MP Centre Stage camera. It automatically places the user in the centre of the fame during a video call, along with Desk View support. They also feature studio-quality microphones with Spatial Audio and Dolby Atmos compatibility.
All variants of the new MacBook Pro support Apple Intelligence features. This includes ChatGPT integration in Siri, Systemwide Writing tools, Accelerating Daily Tasks, Emoji Generation, and more. Some of these features will start rolling out in December. All models run on macOS Sequoia out of the box.
Connectivity options on the new MacBook Pro models include WiFi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, HDMI port with support for 8K resolution output, SDXC slot, MagSafe 3 port for charging, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Thunderbolt 5 is only available on M4 Pro and M4 Max models.
In addition to launching new MacBook Pro models, Apple has also upgraded the MacBook Air M2 and M3 to 16GB RAM as the base model. The company has kept the prices unchanged as the upgraded MacBook Air models now start at Rs 99,900 in India.
