Intel has launched its new Arc B580 and B570 GPUs. These are based on the Xe2 graphics architecture that brings improved efficiency per core. The new Intel GPUs can deliver up to 3.9 times better gaming performance in AAA titles than the previous-gen graphics cards. Here are the details.
Intel Arc B580 and B570 GPUs: Price and Availability
The Intel Arc B580 will be available in a Limited Edition by Intel itself, and from board partners Acer, ASRock, GUNNIR, ONIXX, MAXSUN, and Sparkle starting from December 13. It is priced at $249 (approx Rs 21,100). The Intel Arc B570 will be available from January 16, 2025, and is priced at $219 (approx Rs 18,600).
The company has not revealed any details for the Indian launch.
Intel Arc B580 and B570 GPUs: Features
The Intel Arc B580 and B570 use second-generation Xe cores with better computer capabilities. They also have high-performance XMX AI engines that can accelerate AI-related tasks from large language models and other applications that use artificial intelligence. The new GPUs also have improved ray tracing performance.
Intel’s new desktop GPUs now use XeSS 2, which includes three new technologies:
- XeSS Super Resolution: AI-powered upscaling is now supported in 150+ games.
- XeSS Frame Generation: Adds interpolated frames using optical flow and motion vector reprojection to improve fluidity in gaming.
- Xe low Latency: Improved response time in games from user input, reducing overall latency.
The Intel Arc B580 comes with up to 12GB of dedicated video memory, while the B570 is available with up to 10GB VRAM. Both GPUs can deliver more than 60fps in gaming at a 1440p resolution and support ray tracing.
Intel says the Arc B580 GPU is 24% faster in 1440p gaming than its A750 GPU. The company is also claiming a 32% better performance per dollar compared to the competition (Nvidia and AMD Radeon).
The Intel Arc B580 and B570 also come with the Xe Media Engine for faster video codecs (like AV1, H.265, H.264, and VP9) encoding. The GPUs also support Intel’s AI Playground application, which comes with features like text-to-image generation, chatbot customisation, photo editing, and more. Intel has also assured that its B-Series Arc GPUs will continue to receive optimised software updates and drivers for all popular games from launch day.
