Qualcomm has launched the 8-core Snapdragon X Plus SoC variant ahead of the IFA 2024. The X1P-46-100 and X1P-42-100 models of the Snapdragon X Plus SoC claim to offer multiday battery life, unprecedented performance, and AI-powered Copilot+ experiences.
Qualcomm Snapdragon X Plus (8-Core) SoC: Features, Specifications
The latest 8-core Snapdragon X Plus requires 179% less power to offer peak performance than its competitors. The SoC is built for AI and comes with 45 TOPS with the integrated Qualcomm Hexagon NPU. The integrated GPU supports up to three external displays, enhancing productivity usage.
The 8-core Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC also sports robust security with enhanced protection from chip to cloud. The support for an advanced MIPI camera with intelligent features such as facial authentication at low power consumption, background blur, and auto-frame.

ASUS Vivobook S 15 and ASUS ProArt PZ13 Announced
ASUS has also introduced the Vivobook S 15 and ProArt PZ13 Copilot+ PCs powered by the new 8-core Snapdragon X Plus SoC. The ASUS Vivobook S 15 is designed for portability at 14.7mm thickness and weighs 1.42 kg. It sports an all-metal body. The laptop is claimed to last over 19 hours with the in-built 70Wh battery and gets support for ASUS USB-C Easy Charge.
ASUS equips the laptop with a single-zone RGB backlit keyboard housing a dedicated Copilot key to access Copilot, Live Captions, and Cocreator. The device debuts with a 15.6-inch ASUS Lumina OLED display with 3K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and Dolby Atmos audio. The Vivobook S 15 sports a StoryCube AI-powered app for users to realise their aspirations.
The ProArt PZ13 is also a detachable, lightweight laptop weighing 0.85kg and 9mm thick. It has an IP52 rating and military-grade durability. ASUS equips the ProArt PZ13 with a similar-res 3K ASUS Lumina OLED display with touchscreen support and PANTONE-validated colours. The ProArt PZ13 also comes with StoryCube, ProArt Creator Hub, and a six-month CapCut membership.
