Lava, the Indian smartphone and accessories brand, is quieter these days, but things go excited as soon as the company announced that a 5G smartphone is coming soon, before Diwali. Today, some sources have indicated that the phone would launch on November 9, so it’s just a few days after Diwali; better late than never. However, on top of that, the excitement levels of Indian smartphone enthusiasts skyrocketed as the phone’s product page leaked, accidentally, of course, by Lava itself. We got some vital information from the leaked product page, including the fact that the upcoming 5G smartphone from Lava is called Lava Agni 5G. The leak’s timing was weird, though, as, on the same day, a missile named Agni 5 was also test-fired by India.

Now, I’m sure that a missile has nothing to do with a smartphone having a resemblance in the name. However, Lava Agni 5G could be a dealbreaker due to the price Lava mentioned on its website and the specifications. Here are the specifications of the phone, as first spotted by tipster Abhishek Yadav and the word getting spread to our team by Shubham Dutt, our Social Media Executive.

Lava Agni 5G Specifications

The Lava Agni 5G seems to have adopted a modern design, moving away from Lava’s old dull looking phones. The phone features a 90Hz display with thin bezels and a punch-hole at the top, placed symmetrically. The phone sports a triple-camera setup on the back consisting of a 64-megapixel primary camera, paired with two other lenses. We don’t know the exact camera combo as the product page has been taken down.

The product page for Lava Agni 5G already mentioned that the phone would pack a big 5,000mAh battery, but we’re not sure of fast charging capabilities yet. MediaTek’s Dimensity 810 SoC will power the phone, paired with probably 4GB or 6GB of RAM, and we could also see expandable storage. The phone will run on Android 11 out of the box, probably Lava’s custom skin on top, bringing some pre-installed apps. The phone retains the 3.5mm headphone jack and offers a single bottom-firing speaker. As mentioned earlier, there will be a punch-hole camera on the front for video calls and selfies.

Lava Agni 5G Price

Lava Agni 5G to cost Rs 19,999
Lava Agni 5G to cost Rs 19,999

As already mentioned in the headline, the pricing seems good, at least from what we have seen on the product page of the phone on Lava’s own website. The page mentioned a price of Rs 19,999. At this price, a 5G smartphone with a triple-camera setup, 90Hz display and Dimensity 810 doesn’t look like a bad deal at all. But we will have to wait a bit to know more about the phone and we are already keeping an eye on Lava, so in case of any new revelations, be sure that we will update it.
