Lava, back in 2021, introduced the Lava Agni 5G Smartphone in the Indian market. Now, a report by Pricebaba, in collaboration with tipster Paras Guglani, reveals that the company is gearing up to launch the successor of Lava Agni – the Lava Agni 2 5G in the country. Paras also speculates that this time the company might introduce a Pro variant under the Agni lineup. However, the report didn’t confirm anything regarding the Pro variant.
Lava will position the Lava Agni 2 as a mid-range flagship and will take on the 5G phones available in the mid-range segment. The smartphone is tipped to be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 1080 processor. The report reveals that the Lava Agni 2 could launch by mid-March or April. Lava Agni 2 5G: Specifications
The upcoming Agni series smartphone from Lava is said to offer a 6.5-inch display with a 90Hz refresh rate and an HD+ resolution. The smartphone is tipped to be powered by MediaTek Dimensity 1080 processor. This is the same processor that powers the Redmi Note 12 Pro and Realme 10 Pro+.
The report further reveals that the system on chip on the Lava Agni 2 will be paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage. The handset is tipped to feature a microSD card slot which will allow users to expand the storage further. The upcoming Lava smartphone is said to be equipped with a 5000mAh battery unit.

The Lava Agni 2 is tipped to support 44W fast charging over a Type-C port. The smartphone is said to rely on a triple-rear camera setup on the photography front. The primary shooter on the device will reportedly include a 50MP sensor with OIS support. The selfies and video calls on the upcoming Lava smartphone will reportedly be taken care of by a 16MP front shooter.
The Lava Agni 2 is tipped to sport a fingerprint scanner which will be embedded into the power button. The other specifications of the upcoming Agni series smartphone is not known yet. The smartphone is tipped to be priced under Rs 25,000 in the country. We will have to wait for some time to see if the Lava Agni 5G will be the cheapest Dimensity 1080-powered smartphone in the country.
