Lava has confirmed the launch date of its new mid-range smartphone. The company has revealed that it will launch the Agni 2 5G on May 16 in India. The Lava Agni 2 will be the company’s most premium offering in India. Ahead of the official launch, the company has been dropping new teasers, which confirm the design and some key details about the phone. The Lava Agni 2 5G is confirmed to feature a Dimensity 7050 SoC, which was launched recently. The company has also confirmed that the phone will feature a curved display.

Lava Agni 2 5G: Everything Known So Far
Lava Agni 2 will launch in India on May 16. The device will be available for purchase soon after its launch via Amazon India. Lava confirmed the launch date and also revealed the rear panel design of the phone. The Agni 2 5G has a massive camera module on the back. It houses a quad-camera setup and an LED flash. The text on the camera module confirms that the primary camera will have a 50MP main camera sensor with an f/1.88 aperture. It is likely to pack a 1/1.55-inch sensor.
On the front, the Agni 2 is confirmed to sport a curved AMOLED display. It would well be the most affordable smartphone with a curved display. The company, other than the processor of the phone, has not revealed any details about the device.
A recent report revealed that the phone will feature a “double-reinforced premium glass back design.” Images of the phone’s green colour variant have been floating on the web. A live video of the phone uploaded by tipster Paras Guglani shows the same green rear panel of the phone with the massive camera module. Lava is expected to launch its upcoming Agni series phone in more colour options.
The device is also likely to launch with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. There will be support for a microSD card via a slot in the SIM tray. The device is also likely to run the latest Android 13 software out of the box.
In addition to this, the Agni 2 is tipped to feature an 8MP ultra-wide camera and two 2MP sensors on the back. The display is also said to get an upgrade and offer support for a 120Hz refresh rate.
Based on the confirmed and leaked details, the Agni 2 is set to get some major upgrades over the outgoing model. Guglani claims that the Agni 2 5G’s effective price will be set at Rs 19,999. The price is said to be inclusive of various offers.
