At a launch event held in India earlier this month, Lenovo launched two new budget-friendly smartphones in the country – K9 and A5. The Lenovo K9 and A5 will be going on sale during Flipkart’s Big Diwali Sale, which is set to begin on November 1st. Flipkart’s second festive sale will come to an end on November 5th, two days before Diwali. While Flipkart will not offer any flat discount on the Lenovo A5 and K9 smartphones during the sale, customers will be able to avail an instant discount with SBI credit or debit cards.
Lenovo K9, A5 to Go on Sale in India During Flipkart Big Diwali Sale
The Lenovo K9 and Lenovo A5 smartphones will be available for purchase during the upcoming Big Diwali Sale on Flipkart. However, the retailer has not confirmed a specific sale date just yet. That said, we do expect the sale date to be revealed within the next few days.
The Lenovo K9 comes in a single memory configuration in India with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Priced at INR 8,999, the Lenovo K9 will be available in two colors – Blue and Black. On the other hand, the entry-level Lenovo A5 will be available in Black and Gold colors. Unlike the Lenovo K9, the A5 comes in two memory configurations – 2GB RAM + 16GB storage and 3GB RAM + 32GB storage. While the 2GB RAM variant is priced at INR 5,999, the 3GB RAM variant of the smartphone is priced at INR 6,999. As mentioned earlier, Flipkart has tied up with SBI to offer instant discounts to customers during the Big Diwali Sale. If you hold an SBI credit or debit card, you will be able to get the Lenovo K9 or A5 for a discounted price. In addition to discounts with SBI cards, Flipkart will also offer great exchange prices, No Cost EMI option, and complete mobile protection at just INR 99 during the sale.
Lenovo K9, A5 Key Features
The Lenovo A5 is being marketed as “the budget champion” by Lenovo. Its main selling point is its 4000mAh large-capacity battery that provides long battery life. It sports a 5.45-inch full screen IPS LCD display with 720 x 1440 HD+ resolution and an 18:9 aspect ratio. Powering the Lenovo A5 is a MediaTek MT6739 quad-core SoC clocked at 1.5 GHz with a PowerVR GE8100 GPU. When it comes to optics, the Lenovo A5 is more or less on par with most of its rivals. It features a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP selfie camera with a Soft Light beauty mode. Similar to most entry-level Android smartphones, the A5 offers a dedicated microSD card slot for further expansion up to 256GB.
While the Lenovo A5 focuses on battery life, the K9 is more of a camera-centric budget Android smartphone with dual front and rear cameras. The smartphone is equipped with a 13MP + 5MP dual-camera setup on both sides. In terms of design, the K9 boasts a double-layered glass body that is polished through 8 different processes. Under the hood, Lenovo K9 runs on a MediaTek Helio P22 12nm octa-core processor clocked at 2.0 GHz with a PowerVR GE8320 GPU. The smartphone’s full screen display measures 5.7-inches diagonally and offers the same 720 x 1440 HD+ resolution as the A5. It also comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, 3000mAh capacity battery, and a USB Type-C port.
