The rumours surrounding the potential launch of Lenovo’s first-ever gaming smartphone under the Legion branding have been popping up on the internet for quite a while now. Not too long ago, we were able to spot the Lenovo Legion phone on the Geekbench database website, which gave us a working clue about some of its specifications and features. Earlier, the device was spotted in a leaked promotional video, which showcased it in all its glory. What we did not know so far was its launch date. Well, we don’t know the exact date today either, but at least we know the launch month – July 2020. Yes, the Lenovo Legion is going to launch in China in July 2020.

Lenovo Legion gaming phone launching in July

The company broke the news surrounding the launch of its Lenovo Legion gaming smartphone via the Chinese microblogging website Weibo earlier today. As per the official post, the brand will unveil the device sometime in July. That being said, the brand has remained silent as to what the exact launch date would be. We can, however, expect more teasers for the device to follow in the coming days, so the launch date is not something which will remain hidden for too long.

Speaking of the specifications of the device, the Lenovo Legion is said to be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor (clocked at 1.80GHz), which will be paired with up to 12GB of RAM. On the software side of things, the Lenovo Legion phone will boot the latest Android 10 OS out of the box.

As far as the display of the device is concerned, earlier leaks point to a potential 144Hz refresh rate display for the Lenovo Legion gaming phone. We have also received reports suggesting that the Lenovo Legion phone will feature ‘90W’ fast charging speed. Coming to the cameras to be used on the device, the Lenovo Legion phone is tipped to sport a 64MP primary camera and a 12MP ultra-wide camera. At the front, the Lenovo Legion is likely to boast a 20MP selfie snapper.
