The Lenovo S5 Pro was launched in China just a few days ago. The capable-yet-affordable Android smartphone from Lenovo will go on sale starting today. The Android handset will start selling in China first and it sports a very attractive price. It is quite likely that Lenovo is now attempting to challenge Xiaomi, Honor, and other Chinese smartphone companies by launching smartphones with good specifications and great prices.

Lenovo recently unveiled the much rumored and leaked Lenovo S5 Pro. The smartphone should help the company stay competitive and relevant at a time when several companies are aggressively launching their smartphones with ever increasing features and surprisingly low prices. While launching the Android handset, Lenovo didn’t hold back any details. It has also announced pricing and other key details of the phone.

One of the major highlights of the Lenovo S5 Pro is its dual-camera setup at the front and rear. Incidentally, Lenovo launched the Lenovo S5 in March this year and then quickly developed the Pro version.

Lenovo S5 Pro Pricing, Availability

The Lenovo S5 Pro has been launched in two variants: 6GB RAM + 64GB internal storage and 6GB RAM + 128GB internal storage. The 6GB/64GB variant costs CNY 1,298 (Rs. 13,500 approx.) and the 6GB/128GB variant costs CNY 1,398 (Rs. 14,500 approx.).

The smartphone launched in China, and Lenovo will start selling the device in the region. Lenovo did not mention any details about the S5 Pro’s availability in India. The company launched a couple of new smartphones in the country recently, so it is possible that this smartphone may arrive soon. Moreover, given the aggressive pricing, Lenovo is quite likely to launch the device in India, as it is a very important market.

Lenovo S5 Pro Starts Selling

We expect the Lenovo S5 Pro will arrive in the next few weeks, perhaps even before the Diwali festival. Moreover, Lenovo could attempt to replicate the pricing strategy that it adopted in China. A similar price would place the Lenovo S5 Pro against quite a few popular Android smartphones like the recently launched Redmi 6 Pro from Xiaomi, Oppo’s Realme 2 Pro, Nokia 6.1 Plus, among several others. Interestingly, there are a few features that set the Lenovo smartphone apart, and will certainly help the company stand out among the crowd.

Lenovo S5 Pro Specifications, Features

The Lenovo S5 Pro features a 6.2-inch Full HD+ LCD display with 1080 x 2246 pixels, resolution, and 18.7:9 aspect ratio. Owing to an Apple iPhone X-like notch at the top, the Lenovo smartphone has 83 percent screen to body ratio and an impressive 402ppi pixel density.

Lenovo has chosen Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor for the Lenovo S5 Pro. It works with Adreno 509 and 6GB RAM. Apart from 64GB or 128GB internal memory options, buyers can add more storage using the Hybrid Dual SIM slots.

The most interesting aspect of the Lenovo S5 Pro is undeniably the dual-camera setup on both the sides of the device. The rear camera setup consists of 20MP + 12MP sensors, while the front-facing camera gets 20MP + 8MP sensors. There’s also a dedicated IR camera, and other sensors for accurate 3D face scanning and Face Unlock. Apart from lossless 2X optical zoom, the cameras also benefit from AI-powered features like automatic scene recognition, Beauty mode, and many more.

A relatively large 3,500mAh battery supports 18W fast charging through USB Type-C port. The device has a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, and loud 2-channel stereo speaker setup. Buyers get Android 8.1 Oreo OS with Lenovo’s own ZUI 5.0 custom layer. The smartphone launched in Black, Gold, and Blue color options, but only the 6GB/64GB variant in Black and Gold color options are listed.
