Lenovo has tried hard but perhaps not hard enough to keep its Lenovo S5 Pro under wraps and out of leaks. The device has popped up in several leaks online, including a TENAA listing and even being revealed through a Geekbench score entry. Well, today is the day that the smartphone will be officially launched in China at an event. Just a day ago, the price of the smartphone was also leaked, leaving little to be revealed on the actual day of launch. Irrespective of this, the excitement as well as tension is high for all Lenovo fans across the world!
Lenovo S5 Pro: What We Know So Far
What do we know about the Lenovo 5S Pro smartphone? Well, apparently quite a lot! As we draw nearer and near to its official launch, the device becomes more and more visible in our imagination. Courtesy of all the leaks of course! The device sports a 6.18-inch display with a resolution of 1080x2246p and an aspect ratio of 19:9. The display is nothing to boast of and is pretty standard for most smartphones in 2018.
The smartphone is rumoured to be powered by the Snapdragon 660 SoC. This is an octa-core CPU with a base frequency of 1.6GHz. The Snapdragon 660 SoC is more a chipset which is popularly found in the upper mid-range smartphones. Coupled with this is the Adreno 512 GPU which is more than capable of the resolution which the Lenovo S5 Pro comes with. The device is likely to launch in different configurations, depending upon memory and storage options. As of now, the four likely configurations include- 3GB RAM + 32GB storage, 4GB RAM + 64GB storage, 6GB RAM + 64GB storage, and 6GB + 128GB storage.
In terms of its camera, the Lenovo S5 Pro is speculated to feature a dual-rear camera setup of 20MP + 12MP and a dual front-facing selfie camera setup of 20MP + 8MP. This is certainly looking good for Lenovo as not many smartphones offer dual rear and dual front-facing cameras in the same price bracket that the Lenovo S5 Pro is likely to launch in. Fueling the device will be a decently sized 3,500mAh battery. The smartphone will launch with Android Oreo 8.1 out of the box and is likely to receive an update to Android 9 Pie in the near future. The 6GB+68GB model is rumoured to be priced at 2299 Yuan (approximately Rs.24,400).
