Lenovo is gearing up to launch a new phone with the Z6 moniker, dubbed Lenovo Z6 Youth Edition (or Lenovo Z6 Lite). As the name suggests, this variant is going to be a watered-down version of the Lenovo Z6 Pro. In the latest development about the upcoming phone, the company posted the first teaser of the Z6 Youth Edition confirming its launch event for May 22, 2019. In addition to the launch date, the teaser hints at a prominent feature too.

The Lenovo Z6 Youth Edition teaser hints at dual frequency GPS technology enabling accurate positioning. Being a mid-range offering, this feature could set the Z6 Youth Edition ahead in the game. Currently, only flagships like Huawei Mate 20 (review), Xiaomi Mi 8, OPPO 10x Zoom, and others come integrated with dual-GPS technology. The teaser of the Z6 Youth Edition suggests support for L1 and L5 dual frequencies for precisely tracking location. Other than this feature, the teaser does not reveal anything else.

Moreover, one of the earlier reports concerning the phone highlighted the confirmation of launch by Lenovo Group VP, Chang Cheng. Lenovo recently made the Z6 Pro flagship official, and now at the upcoming event, it will launch the lite variant of the phone. Talking about leaks, one of the recent leaks was aimed at a Lenovo phone carrying model number L78121 spotted on 3C certification. The listing also revealed that the phone has support for 18W fast-charging.

Interestingly, the model number for Z-series phones by Lenovo also begin with ‘L78’ which means that the model spotted on the certification could be none other than the upcoming Z6 Youth Edition. We can expect the phone to show up on TENAA certification too.

Lenovo is also expected to launch another device alongside the Z6 Youth Edition on May 22 in China. The other smartphone was recently spotted on TENAA with the model number L38111. Reports hint that this mystery phone could belong to Lenovo’s K-series. The listing for the phone reveals key details such as 6.3-inch IPS LCD screen with waterdrop notch, octa-core SoC clocked at 2.2GHz, 4,000mAh battery, and up to 6GB of RAM. Other specs include a 16MP primary sensor, 8MP selfie camera, and Android 9 Pie-based custom OS. The phone is expected to debut in more than two variants with internal storage capacity going up to 128GB. We may see this phone debuting as Lenovo K6 Note (2019).
