LG has launched a new Android-based flip phone, dubbed the LG Folder 2. The LG Folder 2 is the successor to the LG Folder, which was launched back in 2018. As per the company, the LG Folder 2 is aimed at seniors, youngsters, and people who prefer ‘simple functions’ in their mobile phone. The device comes equipped with functions like an SOS Key, AI Voice Service, etc, which might turn out to be quite handy for the elderly and the youngsters out there. There is an SOS hotkey mounted on the rear of the LG Folder 2, which will call the pre-registered number when it is pressed three times quickly within 1.5 seconds. The moment the action is performed, the location information of the person using the LG Folder 2 will be shared with the owner of the pre-registered number via text. LG Folder 2: Price and Availability

The LG Folder 2 is priced at WON 198,000, which roughly translates to somewhere around $162 or Rs 12,405. The device will be available in South Korea from April 17, 2020. So far, the company has not given any information about the global release of the LG Folder 2.

Starting with the display of the device, the LG Folder 2 features a 2.8-inch QVGA LCD panel with a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels. Plus, there is a 0.9-inch mono front screen, which shows important content like notification alerts, time and battery percentage, to name a few. The device weighs in at 127 grams and measures 107.9 x 55 x 18mm. Coming to the color variants, the LG Folder 2 is available in two colors – Platinum Grey and White.

Under the hood, the LG Folder 2 is powered by a 1.1GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 processor, which is assisted by an Adreno 304 GPU, 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of internal storage. If 8GB of internal storage does not suffice for your media consumption needs, the same can be topped up up to 32GB with the help of an external SD card.

For optics, the LG Folder 2 features a 2MP camera at the back. The 2MP camera is the only camera found on the body of the LG Folder 2. Connectivity features of the LG Folder 2 include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, and GPS.

As far as the battery of the device is concerned, the LG Folder 2 sports a 1,470mAh battery with standard charging. Well, expecting fast charging support from a device of such nature would be too much to ask for anyway. Lastly, the LG Folder 2 comes with features like FM Radio and SOS Key.

As mentioned earlier, the LG Folder 2 is targeted at a specific audience, an audience which needs a simplistic and minimal phone. Addressing the launch, Jae-Hyeok Shin, a mobile marketing manager, LG Electronics, said, “Old-age and youth and customers who prefer simple functions need more convenient folder phones than complicated high-end smartphones. Phone ”.
