The LG OLED 48CX 4K smart TV has been launched in India, and for once, LG is marketing it as not just an OLED TV, but one for gamers. Naturally, what you would hence expect from it is what the LG OLED 48CX comes with – high refresh rate, but that is not the only thing that this television features. It also claims a host of smarts thanks to LG’s AI ThinQ algorithms, and being a new generation TV, features a sleeker design than older models – in a bid to appeal more to the premium TV buyers in India.
LG OLED 48CX price, availability
The LG OLED 48CX is the smallest screen size made available in an LG Signature series OLED TV, and comes to India at a price of Rs 1,99,990. Like all LG TVs, the LG OLED 48CX will be available across all leading offline and online electronics retailers of the Korean brand in India.
LG OLED 48CX specifications
The most important and obvious specification to note is the 48-inch screen size, which gives users with smaller available spaces in their living rooms to also get their hands on a flagship OLED television. The TV features Nvidia G-Sync, and supports up to 120Hz refresh rate – something that buyers of the Sony PlayStation 5 and Microsoft Xbox Series X would like, thanks to support for 4K 120fps gameplay on the new consoles.
The TV features self-lit pixels, thereby not featuring a separate backlight for rendering images on screen. This enables LG to make the TV body even slimmer. It is powered by the LG Alpha 9 Gen 3 processor that handles reproduction of HGiG colour profiles on the TV for deep blacks that are typical to OLED panels. It combines this with HDR gaming support, as well as AI Acoustic Tuning for better and adaptive audio from the LG OLED 48CX’s native speakers.
Along with 120fps gaming support and adaptive, variable frame rate that is tuned automatically by the TV’s engine based on the content that’s playing, the LG OLED 48CX also features Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM) for 1ms response time – yet another gamer centric addition. It also comes with HDMI 2.1 and eARC for better fidelity of external audio. It also has a ‘Filmmaker Mode’, which is tuned by the TV’s AI engine to automatically calibrate colour settings to match the way the film was natively programmed to run.
Other features supported by the LG OLED 48CX include Dolby Vision IQ and Dolby Atmos, LG AI ThinQ with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa built-in, Apple AirPlay 2 and Apple HomeKit smart home integration. It comes with the signature LG Magic Remote, and a 2-way Wireless Sound Bluetooth connectivity for audio accessories.
