1. Albie Morkel – 125m – 2008

The longest six ever recorded in IPL history came from South African all-rounder Albie Morkel. Albie Morkel has a decorated IPL career, starting with Chennai Super Kings from 2008 to 2013. He switched to Royal Challengers Bangalore for the 2014 season, then Delhi Daredevils in 2015 and Rising Pune Supergiant in 2016.

In the 2008 IPL season playing for Chennai Super Kings, facing Deccan Chargers spinner Pragya Ohja, Albie Morkel hit the longest-ever six in IPL history of 125m.

2. Praveen Kumar – 124m – 2011

The second-longest six in IPL history was from the former Indian medium-pace bowler Praveen Kumar. In the 2011 season of IPL, while playing for Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings), he hit the ball from Mumbai Indians fast bowler Lasith Malinga at a distance of 124m, making it the second-longest six in the history of IPL.

Praveen Kumar played 119 matches in IPL, starting with Royal Challengers Bangalore, with whom he was a part from 2008 to 2010. Then he moved to Kings XI Punjab from 2011 to 2013. In 2014, he was with Mumbai Indians; then he played for Sunrisers Hyderabad for the 2015 season and Gujarat Lions for the 2016 and 2017 seasons.

3. Adam Gilchrist – 122m – 2011

Former Australian captain and superstar wicketkeeper-batsman Adam Gilchrist holds the record for the third-longest six in IPL history. In the 2011 IPL season, playing for Kings XI Punjab, he smashed the ball from Royal Challengers Bangalore bowler Charl Lanheveldt’s ball out to 122m, making it the third-longest six in IPL history.

Adam Gilchrist played for two teams in his IPL career with Deccan Chargers from 2008 to 2010. Then he moved to Kings XI Punjab from 2011 to 2013. He played a total of 80 matches and scored a total of 2069 runs in his IPL career.

4. Robin Uthappa – 120m – 2010

Robin Uthappa, the former Indian cricketer, has the record for fourth longest six in IPL. In the 2010 season, while playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore, he hit the fourth-longest six, clocking a distance of 120m.

Robin Uthappa has had a very long IPL career. He was in the first-ever IPL season and was active till the 2022 IPL season. He made his IPL debut with Mumbai Indians in 2008 but moved to Royal Challengers Bangalore for the 2009 and 2010 seasons. Then he played for Pune Warriors India from the 2011 to 2013 seasons. Then jumped to Kolkata Knight Riders from the 2014 to 2019 seasons. Next, he switched to Rajasthan Royals for the 2020 season, and next was Chennai Super Kings for the 2021 to 2022 season. He was released from contract by Chennai Super Kings ahead of the 2023 season. He played 205 matches in his IPL career and made a total of 4952 runs!

5. Chris Gayle – 119m – 2013

Chris Gayle doesn’t need any introduction; he’s a Jamaican cricketer who plays for the West Indies banner in international cricket. In IPL, he has played 142 matches and scored 4965 runs.

Chris Gayle hit his longest six in IPL while playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 2013 season against now-defunct Pune Warriors India.

Yuvraj Singh is tied with Chris Gayle with a six that went for 119m.

Yuvraj Singh was part of IPL from its debut season in 2008 until his retirement. He started with Kings XI Punjab, where he played from 2008 to 2010. Then he switched to Pune Warriors India from 2011 to 2014. He was with Royal Challengers Bangalore for the 2014 season, and next was Delhi Daredevils in 2015. Then he moved to Sunrisers Hyderabad for the 2016 and 2017 seasons. He then played for Mumbai Indians for the 2019 season.

7. Ross Taylor – 119m – 2008

The former New Zealand captain Ross Taylor had a long career in IPL. He’s tied with Chris Gayle and Yuvraj Singh with a six that went 119m.

Ross Taylor started his IPL career with the debut IPL season with Royal Challengers Bangalore, where he stayed until 2010. Then he moved to Rajasthan Royals for the 2011 season, then to Delhi Daredevils for the 2012 season and finally to Pune Warriors India for the 2013 season.

In the 2008 IPL season, playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore, he hit the ball from Jacob Oram of Chennai Super Kings to a length of 119m.

Liam Livingstone is an English all-rounder tied with Ben Cutting and Gautham Gambhir for the sixth-fastest six in the history of IPL.

Liam Livingstone started his IPL career with Rajasthan Royals in 2019 and will remain with them until 2021. He then switched to Punjab Kings for the 2022 season.
