MediaTek Dimensity 9200 SoC GPU Benchmark Results Said to be Better Than Apple’s A16 Bionic

The reported benchmark tests also show that Dimensity 9200 SoC has managed to gain a massive lead over the Dimensity 9000+ and the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC.

MediaTek is rumoured to launch its new Dimensity 9200 SoC. The new flagship SoC from MediaTek will launch as a successor to the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC unveiled earlier this year. MediaTek is expected to make some massive improvements over the currently available flagship SoCs. The expected upgrades not only include performance gains but also some improvement in efficiency. The exact launch date of the MediaTek Dimensity 9200 SoC is unknown.

Meanwhile, benchmark scores of the upcoming MediaTek SoC have leaked. A new report has now revealed the AnTuTu benchmark score of Dimensity 9200 SoC. The report by IT Home, citing various tipsters, also reveals the GFX Benchmark score of the upcoming Dimensity 9200 SoC. It might take somebody surprise as the leaked scores reveal that MediaTek might have just outperformed Apple’s A16 Bionic SoC found in the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.

MediaTek Dimensity 9200 Benchmark Scores Leaked

MediaTek Dimensity 9200 SoC will power some of the high-end flagship smartphones launching later this year and early 2023. Ahead of the launch, the GPU scores of the SoC have leaked. The report revealed that Dimensity 9200 SoC managed to get a score of 328 fps in the GFX 1080p Manhattan 3.0 Off-screen Test. In Manhattan 3.1 off-screen tests, the SoC reportedly scored 228 fps.

In comparison, Apple’s A16 Bionic SoC managed to get scores of 280 fps and 200 fps, respectively. The Dimensity 9200 SoC also outperformed the company’s current flagship SoC, the Dimensity 9000+ SoC, which scored 220 fps and 160 fps, respectively. Lastly, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC scored 281 fps and 188 fps in the two GFX Benchmark tests.

SoCs Manhattan 3.0 off-screen test Manhattan 3.1 off-screen test
MediaTek Dimensity 9200 SoC 328 228
MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ 220 160
Apple A16 Bionic 280 200
Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1  281 188

The reported benchmark tests clearly show that Dimensity 9200 SoC has managed to gain a massive lead over the Dimensity 9000+ and the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. The highlight though is that the MediaTek SoC scored higher than Apple’s A16 Bionic, which was claimed to be the fastest SoC for a smartphone ever.

Some other details of the upcoming SoC have leaked as well. Tipster Digital Chat Station revealed that the Dimensity 9200 SoC has a peak clock speed of 3.05GHz. Its performance cores have a frequency of 2.85GHz, whereas the efficiency cores clocked at 2.0GHz. The CPU is paired with a Mali-G715 GPU. Combined, the SoC scored 12,66,102 on AnTuTu, which is the highest ever.

These are only the leaked scores but if they are anything close to the reported numbers, MediaTek’s new flagship SoC might just dethrone Apple’s claim of making the most powerful SoC for smartphones. Since the launch is not far, we can expect more details to drop soon. Companies are also expected to launch phones with a Dimensity 9200 SoC in the coming weeks, which will reveal real-world and benchmark performance.
