
The Dimensity 9300 processor is MediaTek’s equivalent to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. Both processors are scheduled to launch soon and will feature on the next generation of flagship smartphones in the Android segment.
MediaTek has now officially confirmed the launch date of its latest flagship processor. The company will be unveiling the details of the Dimensity 9300 processor in the first week of November, next month.
MediaTek Announces Launch Date of Dimensity 9300 Processor
MediaTek has scheduled a new launch event on November 6, 2023. The teaser image released by the company showcases an image of a processor, indicating that the launch event is for a chipset.
MediaTek has not officially acknowledged that the launch event is related to the Dimensity 9300. However, the teaser image shows a processor with eight cores, which is similar to the leaked specifications of the Dimensity 9300 chipset. Hence, it is safe to assume that MediaTek will be officially launching the Dimensity 9300 chipset on November 6.
The Dimensity 9300 is a direct competition to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. Considering that Qualcomm will be launching its latest flagship chipset at the Snapdragon Summit on October 24, MediaTek was expected to follow its launch event soon after. Both events are now scheduled within a 15-day period, invoking fierce competition.
The Dimensity 9300 chipset was recently spotted on AnTuTu benchmarks. The chipset has achieved a score of over 2 million AnTuTu, which is one of the highest scores for any MediaTek chipset. The Dimensity 9300 is also expected to narrow the performance gap between Qualcomm’s and MediaTek’s flagship processors.
Popular tipster Digital Chat Station had previously revealed the specifications of the Dimensity 9300 chipset. As per the report, the chipset will feature an octa-core design fabricated on TSMC’s 4nm architecture. DCS reported that MediaTek is using a 1+3+4 core configuration, with all cores being performance-centric, without any efficiency cores.
The Dimensity 9300 will reportedly feature 1x ARM Cortex X4 Prime core, 3x ARM Cortex X4 cores, and 4x ARM Cortex-A720 cores. The chipset is expected to use the latest Immortalis G720 MC12 GPU.
DCS had also mentioned that the GPU performance on the Dimensity 9300 could exceed the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. However, the final results will depend on the clock speed selected by MediaTek for its flagship chipset.
MediaTek Dimensity 9300 Expected Devices
The Vivo X100 Series is expected to be the first set of devices to feature the Dimensity 9300 chipset. Here, the Vivo X100 and the X100 Pro are tipped to launch with the Dimensity flagship chip, while the top model Vivo X100 Pro+ will use its Qualcomm counterpart, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. The Vivo X100 Series will be launching in China on November 17, next month.
Recently, an unknown OPPO device with the model number PHZ110 was spotted on Geekbench with the Dimensity 9300 chipset. Hence, it is highly possible that OPPO could soon launch a device with MediaTek’s latest flagship chipset.
