Popular Chinese smartphone maker Meizu is set to launch its new flagship-class handset– the Meizu 17 in China in the next few days. Last week, we posted an article talking about this device after it appeared on China’s 3C certification website. Today, we have received another hint that sort of confirms that the device is on the verge of being officially launched in China. A device, supposedly the Meizu 17, has appeared on AnTuTu benchmark in which it managed to score really well. Take a look at the screenshot posted on popular Chinese microblogging platform Weibo.

Meizu 17 ANTUTU benchmark

As seen in the image above, the Meizu 17 has managed to score an impressive 580,851 points in the AnTuTu benchmark test. This is higher than the official highest AnTuTu score of 562262 achieved by the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G. It can, therefore, be safely assumed that the Meizu 17 will almost certainly offer excellent performance. Note that other handsets have scored even higher — but then we are only considering AnTuTu’s official rankings page here for reference.

While we do not know all the specifications of the Meizu 17, it is expected that the phone will come powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 5G mobile platform, and will also feature 8/12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and a UFS 3.0 storage. The AMOLED panel used on the phone measures 6.5-inches across and is also likely to get a punch hole for the front-facing camera. The display will also support 90Hz refresh rates. Earlier leaks have indicated that the Meizu 17 could feature a quad-camera setup at the rear.

The Meizu 17 is likely to feature a 4,500mAh battery with support for 30W fast charging. The phone will run Meizu’s own FlymeOS atop an Android 10 core. The phone, a launch, will compete with the Xiaomi Mi 10 in China. The phone is expected to be officially announced on April 15, with a price of around 3,999 Yuan (Rs 43,000). Note that all these are unverified reports. There is some chance that the final Meizu 17 you see at launch could be slightly different.
