Mi Gaming Laptop: Xiaomi To Launch Several High-End Electronics In India Next Year, Confirms Global VP

Xiaomi is planning to launch several interesting products in India starting early next year, including the Mi Gaming laptop. Here are the details.

Xiaomi is planning to launch several high-end electronics and gadgets in India starting next year. Continuing the momentum set this year, the Chinese smartphone and electronics giant will also bring a powerful Mi laptop with gaming-focused hardware, including backlit keyboard, programmable keys, Full HD display, and several other premium specifications.

Xiaomi Global Vice President and India head Manu Kumar Jain indicated that India is one of the company’s priority markets. Xiaomi has been actively and enthusiastically launching several products in India. Interestingly, the company has launched certain smartphones like the POCO F1 first in India. Over the course of the last few months, the company ventured into some novel categories in India besides smartphones. The company’s Smart TVs, Home Security, Fitness Bands, Bluetooth Speakers, Mi Luggage, Air Purifiers etc. were quite well received. Xiaomi even deployed a dedicated ‘Mi Home Experience Center’.

The Chinese company now plans to step up its activities in India, indicated Jain during an interview. Speaking about the company’s plans, Jain said: “Xiaomi will try to bring more of its gadgets here and its Gaming Laptop are on the list, along with some other devices.”

Xiaomi has a premium Mi Notebook lineup that packs the latest 8th-Gen Intel Core i5 and Core i7 processors. The company recently launched a toned-down version with an Intel Core i3 processor as well.

The Mi Gaming laptop, however, sports game-centric features. Launched in August this year, the laptop could attract gamers. It features a 15.6-inch Full HD anti-glare display. The screen promises 72 percent NSTC color gamut, has a respectable 300nits of brightness as well as 178-degree viewing angles.

The Mi Gaming laptop features a RBG backlit keyboard with five individually programmable keys. For connectivity, the portable gaming machine has four USB 3.0 ports, one USB C port, HMDI 2.0 port, 3.5mm earphone jack, and 3+1 memory card reader. It also packs a HD Camera for in-game video chats and recordings. Buyers also get powerful dual 3W speakers that support Dolby Audio technology.

The Mi Gaming laptop comes with Windows 10 Home Edition. Interestingly, Xiaomi has embedded dual storage with 256GB SDD, and 1TB HDD. The choice of processors varies between Intel Core i5 and Core i7.

Xiaomi Mi Gaming Laptop Price, Availability

The Xiaomi Mi Gaming laptop is currently available and sold in China. As confirmed by Jain, the portable gaming machine will arrive in India early next year.

The Mi Gaming laptop currently sells in four configurations. The variant with 2.3GHz Intel Core i5-8300H processor, 8GB of RAM, and 4GB GeForce GTX 1050 Ti GPU costs CNY 6,699 (INR 70,000 approx.). The variant with 2.2GHz Intel Core i7-8750H processor, 8GB of RAM, and 4GB GeForce GTX 1050 Ti GPU costs CNY 7,098 (INR 75,000 approx.).

The Mi Gaming laptop with 2.3GHz Intel Core i5-8300H processor, 8GB of RAM, and 6GB GeForce GTX 1060 sells for CNY 7,598 (INR 80,000 approx.). The top-end model of the Xiaomi Mi Gaming laptop comes with 2.2GHz Intel Core i7-8750H processor, 16GB of RAM, and 6GB GeForce GTX 1060. Surprisingly, despite the high-end specifications, Xiaomi has priced the device at CNY 8,999 or about INR 99,000 approx.
