Xiaomi has launched its very own gaming laptop in China, called the Mi Notebook Pro X. The latter offers performance centric specifications, and Xiaomi is marketing the device as a competent budget gaming notebook. The screen design gives the laptop super slim bezels around its OLED display, while the large body also makes sure that the Mi Notebook Pro X gets a sizeable multi-touch trackpad as well. However, it is likely not just gamers that Xiaomi is targeting – the laptop is also available in a Core i5 variant (apart from the Core i7 one), which suggests that the company is also targeting general buyers looking for a fast, smooth Windows laptop for everyday usage or visual production.

Mi Notebook Pro X: price and availability

The Mi Notebook Pro X comes in two variants, as stated before – a Core i5 one, priced at CNY 7,999 (approx. Rs 92,000), while the Core i7 variant is priced at CNY 9,999 (approx. Rs 1,15,000). Both the variants feature 11th gen Intel Core processors, and will be available in China starting July 19. The India availability of the laptop has not been announced as yet.

Key specifications

The Mi Notebook Pro X offers a choice between a Core i5-11300H or a Core i7-11370H in the processor department. The former offers 16GB DDR4 RAM and a 512GB NVMe SSD, while the latter features 32GB DDR4 memory and a 1TB NVMe SSD. Both the variants feature up to the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 Ti GPU, and while the latter sits in the base range of Nvidia’s latest range of GPUs, this is the peak configuration that the Pro X can be bought in.

Other specifications include a 15.6-inch OLED display with 3.5K (3456 x 2160 pixels) screen resolution. The latter is certified to offer 600 nits peak brightness, and cover 100 percent of both DCI-P3 and sRGB colour gamut. The display also features a Corning Gorilla Glass. Other key specs include Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, two USB-C ports (one Thunderbolt 4 enabled), two USB-A ports, and a fingerprint sensor integrated into the laptop’s power button – a la Asus.

Finally, it features USB-C charging via USB Power Delivery, and also offers 120W fast charging for its 80Whr laptop battery.
