Microsoft Launches Surface Laptop Go and Updated Surface Pro X: Price, Specifications

Microsoft has officially launched its latest line up Surface laptop. The newly launched laptops are called Surface Pro X and Surface Laptop Go. The company is touting the devices as “design a Surface for every person, work style and location.” Here’s a closer look at the price, specifications, and features of both the Surface laptop.

The Microsoft Surface Pro X comes in Platinum, Ice Blue, and Poppy Red colour options and compatible with last year’s Surface Pro X keyboard. The company has started taking preorders in India starting at Rs 1,49,999 but only for the commercial consumes.

Microsoft Surface Go is launched with a price tag of USD 549.99, but there is no information at what price the laptop will be up for sale in the Indian market. The current lineup of the Surface Go is priced between Rs 50,999 and Rs 57,999 depending on the different variant.

Microsoft Surface Pro X Features

The newly launched Microsoft Surface Pro X is an upgraded variant of last year’s model. It comes with a 13-inch touchscreen with a resolution of 2880×1920 pixel and an aspect ratio of 3:2. The company claims its the thinnest ever Surface Pro till the date.

Under the hood, the Surface Pro X is powered by two custom processors, the Microsoft SQ1 and the latest SQ2. Both the chipsets are made by Qualcomm. The company is yet to provide any details about this processor. The SQ1 was based on the Snapdragon 8cx, so we can safely expect that the SQ2 might be based on the Snapdragon 8cx Gen 2. The SQ1 is clubbed with Adreno 685 GPU and the SQ 2 has the Adreno 690. The company also claimed that the device is capable of delivering a battery life of 15 hours.

The Surface Pro X is backed by 8GB and 16GB LPDDR4x RAM and buyers can choose from 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB of removable M.2 2230 SSD as storage. On the software front, the device will be shipped with Windows 10 Home on ARM.

It also features a 5-megapixel front camera with 1080p video recording support and at the back, the Surface Pro X houses a 10-megapixel camera for recording up to 4K video

As per the company, the Surface Laptop Go flaunts a 12.4-inch display with a resolution of 1536×1024 resolution and 3:2 aspect ratio. This one is also a touch display and the company claims that it an affordable variant of the expensive Surface laptops.

Under the hood, the Surface Laptop Go draws power from a 10th Gen Intel Core i5-1035G1 processor with Intel UHD Graphics. The device is backed by 4GB or 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 64GB eMMC or 128/256GB SSD storage options. It comes with a webcam at the front which is capable of shooting videos in 720p resolution.

On the connectivity front, the Surface Laptop Go includes 1x USB-C, 1x USB-A, Wi-Fi 802.11ax, Bluetooth 5.0, headphone jack, and Surface Connect port.
