Microsoft released the Surface Duo last year. Now, the company is expected to release a successor to the Surface Duo soon dubbed as the Microsoft Surface Duo 2. Microsoft is rumoured to launch the Surface Duo 2 in October. We have been seeing multiple leaks regarding the Surface Duo 2 from the last few weeks. Now, ahead of the launch, we have spotted the Surface Duo 2 at Geekbench. The Geekbench benchmark listing reveals the hardware specifications of the Duo 2. According to the details revealed by the preliminary benchmark listing, the Surface Duo 2 will be powered by Snapdragon 888 SoC and it will run Android 11 out of the box. Microsoft Surface Duo 2 Launch Seems Imminent
In the Geekbench 5 test result, we can see that the Microsoft Surface Duo 2 has managed to pull off 1071 and 3166 points in the single-core and multi-core tests respectively. The Surface Duo 2 as per the Geekbench listing will be powered by Snapdragon 888 SoC which will be integrated with Adreno 660 GPU. It will pack 8GB of RAM. On the software side of things, the device will run Android 11 out of the box. And that’s all the details we can grab from the preliminary benchmark test result currently.
The past leak suggests that the Surface Duo 2 will feature a triple-camera setup. The rear-facing camera module is tipped to include a telephoto, ultrawide angle, and standard lens. Additionally, it is said that Microsoft is planning to optimize the launcher for the Microsoft Surface Duo 2. The upcoming Surface Duo 2 is expected to have a similar design as that of the earlier Surface Duo, except that it is tipped to offer improved performance and a triple-camera setup. Some rumours even suggest that the Surface Duo 2 will have a 5G and NFC support.
As of now, Microsoft has not revealed the launch date of the Surface Duo 2. However as mentioned above, Microsoft is planning to launch the Surface Duo 2 in October or September later this year.
