Today, Microsoft is hosting an event to launch the new Surface Pro 8, Surface Duo 2, and Surface Book. The new Surface lineup is expected to be the next lineup of flagship computing devices from Microsoft, powered by Windows 11. The event is scheduled to take place at 11 AM ET (8:30 PM IST). However, just before the launch, the key specifications and pricing details have leaked. A tipster on Twitter has shared key specifications of the Surface Pro 8.
Surface Pro 8 Key Specifications
The new Surface Pro 8 from Microsoft will be powered by the latest 11th-generation Intel Core processor. However, the exact processor variant has not been revealed yet. As mentioned earlier and matching our expectations, it will ship with Windows 11. It will feature a 13-inch display with a high refresh rate of 120Hz, and the bezels around the display will be minimal. There will also be dual Thunderbolt ports for connectivity.
The tipster further mentioned that the Surface Pro 8 would come with the option to replace the SSD, making it easier for users to upgrade or change the SSD when they want. Microsoft has probably opted for a 120Hz display to take full advantage of Windows 11’s Dynamic Refresh Rate feature, which allows the display to change refresh rate based on tasks. Some sources also suggest that the Surface Pro 8 will come with a new and improved Surface Pen.
Surface Pro 8 Pricing
The tipster also made a second tweet right after he disclosed the key specifications. As per him, it will be priced at $799, which translates roughly to Rs. 59,000. However, further, in the thread, while replying to others, he mentioned that he’s sure about the specs, but not sure of the pricing.
Other Devices Launching Today
A couple of Surface devices will launch today, and it looks like Microsoft Surface Go 3 will also be a part of the new lineup. Already, the key specifications of Surface Go 3 have leaked out, and the leaked information suggests that it will come with a 10-5-inch display, 4GB or 8GB of RAM, 8MP rear-facing and a 5MP front-facing camera, Wi-Fi 6 and more. However, the leak suggests a 10th Gen Core i3 processor on Surface Go 3, which may sound a bit disappointing to many.
From what information we have so far, Surface Go 3 may turn out to be the most affordable of all, with sources hinting towards a price close to $450, which translates to around Rs. 33,000.
