The news surrounding Xiaomi’s upcoming MIUI 12 skin has been popping up on the internet every now and then. Earlier today, we were able to spot a leaked list of Xiaomi/Redmi smartphones that were allegedly eligible to receive the MIUI 12 update in the first batch. The leaked list consists of almost all the newly launched smartphones by Xiaomi and its sub-brand Redmi. Well, we will talk about that list as well, but first let’s focus on another new development. As it turns out, the Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro smartphone has recently been spotted running a developer build of the upcoming MIUI 12 OS. Take a look at the new development that has taken place in the MIUI realm.
Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro Spotted Running on MIUI 12 Developer Build
A post shared on the Chinese microblogging website Weibo has shown the Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro smartphone running Android 11-based MIUI 12 (build number MIUI 188.8.131.52). The build number is most likely the developer version of the MIUI 12 Chinese ROM and it is seen with the April 2020 security patch. Below is the excerpt from the Weibo post (roughly translated from Chinese):
It is said that MIUI12 will begin internal testing this month, and these functions will be updated:
1. Brand new nonlinear global animation and optimization for high frame rate screens.
2. Brand new operation gestures, such as Android white bar, quick switching applications, etc.
3. Unified system interaction UI
4. Brand new MIUI camera
5. Brand new application notification integration
6. Mobile phone advertising optimization: Most of the ads should be removed.
7. New UI
PS: In fact, many new functions have been tested in the development version. MIUI12 should add these functions to the official version. Of course, MIUI12 will definitely have new functions and surprises. Look forward to it
As already learned, MIUI 12 is said to feature a revamped system UI. The camera UI is also said to be undergoing a complete design overhaul. Furthermore, MIUI 12 is tipped to feature new optimization levels for mobile ads. It will come with a new notification app and revamped gestures.
Speaking of the leaked list of eligible devices that are said to receive the MIUI 12 update in the first batch, these are the devices that made it to the list – Xiaomi Mi 10, Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro, Xiaomi Mi 9, Xiaomi Mi 9 SE, Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro, Xiaomi Mi 8, Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro, Xiaomi Mi CC9, Xiaomi Mi CC9E, Xiaomi Mi Mix 3, Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s, Xiaomi Mi Mix 2, Redmi K30, Redmi K20 Pro, Redmi K20, Redmi Note 8, Redmi Note 7 Pro, Redmi Note 7, Redmi 8, Redmi 8A, Redmi 7, and Redmi 7A. Furthermore, MIUI 12 is said to bring a more “perfect” dark mode to the Xiaomi/Redmi device. Lastly, MIUI 12 will reportedly aim to provide a better solution towards dealing with increasing push notifications with an all-new notification management system.
