While we wait for the new launch date announcement, a new leak has revealed details about the upcoming Xiaomi custom skin’s features.

Tipster Kacper Skrzypek has uploaded an image on Twitter, which reveals the complete changelog of MIUI 14. The screenshot reveals that the upcoming MIUI update will get many new features. Let’s take a look at the new MIUI 14 features leaked ahead of the launch.

MIUI 14 Features List

Xiaomi will roll out its new MIUI 14 update to various smartphones, including Redmi and POCO phones very soon. The upcoming update will get many new personalisation features along with some privacy and efficiency features.

The changelog revealed that MIUI takes less storage space and is far more responsive. The company has improved the system architecture to provide boosted performance for both pre-installed and third-party apps. MIUI will also provide end-to-end privacy features for certain apps and tasks, and the data will be stored locally on the device.

In terms of personalisation features, the screenshot reveals that MIUI will come with a new widget format, which will allow more combinations. This suggests that the feature could be similar to Stacked widgets found in iOS and Samsung’s One UI 5.0. There will also be new Super Icons, which are said to give the home screen a new look. There will also be folders on the home screen that will highlight apps for one-tap access.

The upcoming MIUI version will also support eight new languages when you press and hold the text in an image. There is also a dedicated section on interconnectivity, which is claimed to significantly revamp the Mi Smart Hub. Inter-device connectivity is also said to get better, with connecting and transferring items between phones, tablets, earphones and TV getting faster.

Xiaomi is also working on enhancing its ecosystem for apps to work better on multiple devices. For example, the screenshot reveals that whenever text input is required on your TV, you can get a convenient pop-up on your phone and enter text there. Users will also be able to answer incoming phone calls on their Xiaomi tablet instead of a phone.

There are some family-sharing features too, such as sharing photo albums with up to eight members. Mi AI voice assistant is now smarter and can be used as a scanner, translator, call assistant, etc. The Search feature in the Settings app is now also more advanced with search history and categories in results.

The upcoming MIUI update will be unveiled soon. Xiaomi is also expected to announce the rollout timeline of MIUI 14 for its smartphones at the event. The rollout timeline will be different for the Indian market. We will share more details as and when available.
