Epic Battery Test: Realme P3 Pro vs Nothing Phone (3a) vs Moto Edge 50 Neo vs OnePlus Nord CE4

We recorded the battery percentage before and after every new test, to record the power consumption. Before we dive into the results of the test, here’s a quick look at the battery capacity of each phone:

Video Streaming Test

To check the battery drain in video streaming, we played a 2-hour long YouTube video. The Realme P3 Pro and Moto Edge 50 Neo have a 1.5K resolution screen, while the Nothing Phone (3a) and OnePlus Nord CE4 have a 1080p display. All phones feature an AMOLED panel in common.

All the devices in this comparison offer impressive visuals, with vivid colour reproduction and ample amount of saturation. The Nothing Phone (3a) and Moto Edge 50 Neo can get brighter than the Realme P3 Pro and OnePlus Nord CE4, which proves beneficial in outdoor visibility.

Despite featuring the largest battery, the Realme P3 Pro showed the biggest battery drop as it was left with just 77%. It was followed by the Moto Edge 50 Neo at 79%. The OnePlus Nord CE4 and Nothing Phone (3a) both stood at 81%.

In terms of power consumption, the Moto Edge 50 Neo showed the highest efficiency as it consumed the least power. It was shortly followed by the Nothing Phone (3a), and the OnePlus CE4. The Realme P3 Pro consumed the highest amount of battery, which is not a good sign.

Performance Test

To test the battery consumption in performance-centric tasks, we conducted Geekbench, AnTuTu, and 3DMark Wildlife Stress Tests on each device. Here’s a quick look at the processor of each device:

After completing the tests, the Nothing Phone (3a) had the lead with 69%, while the other three devices stood at 65% each. Talking about efficiency, Nothing wins this round by consuming the least power, followed closely by the Moto Edge 50 Neo. The Realme P3 Pro stood third, and the OnePlus Nord CE4 used up the maximum amount of battery in this round.

Idle Battery Drain

To check the idle battery drain, we left aside each device with the screen turned off for 12 hours. This will reveal the standby battery drain that happens when we leave our phones overnight.

After completing the test, the Nothing Phone (3a) still had the lead with a 65% charge, followed by the Realme P3 Pro at 61%. The OnePlus Nord CE4 was at 60% and the Moto Edge 50 Neo was at 59%.

Coming to power consumption, the Nothing Phone (3a) consumed the least power, highlighting its efficiency. The Realme P3 Pro was second, followed by the Moto Edge 50 Neo. The OnePlus Nord CE4 again used the most power in this round, which is a negative sign.

Camera Test

Cameras have become a key part of our smartphone usage, but we often underestimate the battery consumption while clicking pictures and videos. To test out this factor, we started recording a video at 4K 30fps resolution for two hours.

This test squeezed the highest amount of battery on each device, resulting in a major charge reduction, which was obvious. The Realme P3 Pro now leads the race with 32%, followed by the OnePlus Nord CE4 at 27%. The Nothing Phone (3a) is not far behind with 26%. However, the Moto Edge 50 Neo is severely lagging behind with just 12%, because of having the smallest battery capacity.

In terms of power consumption, the Moto Edge 50 Neo consumed the highest battery, followed by the Nothing Phone (3a). The OnePlus Nord CE4 was third in this aspect. Interstingly, the Realme P3 Pro showed the best efficiency as it used the least power while recording videos.

Social Media Test

Since we all scroll a lot of vertical videos, this test is a need of the hour. We scrolled YouTube Shorts for 30 minutes on each device.

The Moto Edge 50 Neo was not able to complete the test and ran out of power. The Realme P3 Pro held its lead with 21%, followed by the OnePlus Nord CE4 and Nothing Phone (3a) at 15% each.

The OnePlus Nord CE4 used up the highest battery in this test, followed by the Moto Edge 50 Neo and the Realme P3 Pro. The Nothing Phone (3a) keeps flaunting its efficiency and consumes the least power.

Battery Drain Test: Conclusion

To draw the final winner, we drained the remaining three devices to 0% by continuously running benchmarks. Here are the results of this Epic Battery test:

The Realme P3 Pro is the clear winner, as it has the largest battery capacity among all phones. The Nothing Phone (3a) surprised us, as it was almost the same as the OnePlus Nord CE4, despite having a smaller battery.

While the Moto Edge 50 Neo lags by a significant margin, it should be enough for a full day of usage considering that the device was able to sustain for 6 hours in our stress test.

Verdict: Best Battery Phone Under Rs 25,000

Now that we know which device offers the best battery life, let’s see which phone suits the best for you as an overall package:

The Nothing Phone (3a) is an excellent all-rounder as it offers good performance, the best camera setup in this list, impressive battery life, and a unique design with Glyph Interface LED lights. It also has a smooth UI which feels more polished compared to other phones on this list. So if you want a phone that ticks each checkbox, the Nothing Phone (3a) is a perfect fit.

If you are a gamer and performance is a top priority, the Realme P3 Pro is an ideal fit. It offers a good display, one of the best gaming performances in this segment, and the longest battery life. However, you will have to compromise a bit with camera performance as the device lacks an ultrawide and telephoto lens.

The Moto Edge 50 Neo is the sleekest phone on this list with its thin form factor, unique colour options, and super lightweight design. You get an excellent OLED screen, a capable and efficient processor, a versatile camera setup with a 3x optical zoom telephoto lens and ultrawide camera, and decent battery life. There are no major compromises as such, and Moto Edge 50 Neo is just marginally behind its competition in a direct specifications war.

Despite being the oldest member on this list, the OnePlus Nord CE4 holds up pretty well with a good display, a powerful processor, a decent pair of cameras and impressive battery life. However, it skips out on a telephoto lens offered by two of its competitors, and it also stood third in our battery list. It’s not a bad device to consider, but it’s worth noting that better alternatives are available in the market. but if you are specifically looking for a OnePlus smartphone, then the Nord CE4 remains a solid choice even in 2025.
