  • Revamped Quick Settings: Pill-shaped icons for Wi-Fi and Mobile Data for easier access. Icons are now resizable. Auto-brightness toggle button has been introduced and the brightness slider has been enlarged in size.
  • App Drawer: Apps are now automatically categorized using AI. This is based on the usage pattern of the device owner. The app drawer is now divided into three sections: Search, App Suggestions, and All Apps. The update also supports app archiving to save storage space.
  • Cameras: The Nothing OS 3.0 update has improved the stability of the camera app in switching modes. The HDR and portrait mode algorithm has been updated for better image quality.
  • Performance Optimization: The latest version now prioritizes frequently used apps and keeps them active in the memory. This helps in faster load times and improved responsiveness. Support for 90fps gaming has been added in games like PUBG Mobile, and others.
  • Shared Widgets: This is a one-of-its-kind feature in Nothing OS 3.0. It allows users to interact with other Nothing phone owners using widgets. For example, the photo widget on one device can be shared and viewed on other Nothing devices.
  • Experimental features: Nothing OS 3.0 is also testing a new RAM Booster, gestures, and game mode. However, it’s not confirmed whether these features will be included in the stable version.
  • Improved animations: The update also brings new animations for fingerprint unlocking, menu scrolling, and an updated Always-on-Display (AoD).

As per the previous rollout timelines from the company, we can expect all eligible Nothing devices to receive the Android 15-based Nothing OS 3.0 update by February 2025. You can read our initial impressions of Nothing OS 3.0 here.
