The Motorola Edge 50 Ultra is Rs 5,000 cheaper of the two. It’s available in a single variant with the RAM equivalent of the base Realme GT 7 Pro and the storage capacity of the top variant.
The Realme GT 7 Pro has higher RAM and the same storage as the Motorola device but is Rs 10,000 more expensive. In terms of value proposition, the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra is more value-for-money. However, if you want 16GB of RAM, the Realme GT 7 Pro is your answer.

|
IP Rating | IP69 and IP68 | IP68 |
The Realme GT 7 Pro and Motorola Edge 50 Ultra are almost the same in thickness, but the former is slightly heavier because of the panda glass sandwich construct and bigger battery. The Realme smartphone features a very industrial design with flat sides, a slightly curved back glass panel, and a large square camera module with contrasting trimming around it. The device can be purchased in Galaxy Grey and Mars Orange with a dual IP68 + IP69 ingress protection rating.
The Motorola Edge 50 Ultra is available in two finishes: vegan leather and wood panel. The former is available in Forest Grey and Peach Fuzz colourways, while the latter comes in Nordic wood colours. Apart from the premium material finish, the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra has a very subtle design with a raised camera island that melds with the back panel.
We received the Nordic Wood variant and can’t praise the hand feel and aesthetics of the device enough. As for durability, the device comes with IP68 ingress protection against dust and water.
Both smartphones have a subtle look but the premium material used in the construction of the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra tips the scales in its favour. That said, if durability is your priority, the Realme GT 7 Pro is better.
Realme GT 7 Pro vs Motorola Edge 50 Ultra: Display
Realme GT 7 Pro | Motorola Edge 50 Ultra
Display | 6.78-inch quad-curved AMOLED | 6.7-inch curved pOLED |
Resolution | 2780 x 1264 pixels | 2712 x 1220 pixels |
Refresh Rate | 120Hz | 144Hz |
Peak Brightness | 6500 nits | 2500 nits |
Display Protection | Corning Gorilla Glass 7i | Corning Gorilla Glass Victus |
In terms of display size and screen resolution, the Realme is better. The smartphone also offers a whopping 6,500 nits of peak brightness, which will allow you to use the device with just 40% brightness indoors and outdoors without eye strain.
Because of the HDR10 and Widevine L1 certification, we could enjoy anime shows and videos on the device with on-point colour consistency. The screen is protected by the Gorilla Glass 7i layer. The smartphone also features stereo speakers, which are loud even at 50% volume and have a relatively balanced sound signature.
In our extensive review, we also found the display on the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra to be very impressive. The screen produces vibrant colours and deeper blacks for a rich visual experience. The streaming experience is also on par with Realme, thanks to the 10-bit colour depth and HDR10+ support. Moreover, the 144Hz refresh rate and Dolby Atmos-tuned speakers elevate the experience. And then there’s the advanced Gorilla Glass Victus layer. However, the display only offers 2,500 nits of peak brightness.
From our experience with it, you would never use Realme GT 7 Pro beyond 50% brightness. So, even though it’s great to have higher brightness support, it gets gimmicky after a point. The Motorola Edge 50 Ultra, with its Gorilla Glass Victus protection, 144Hz refresh rate, and Dolby Atmos audio, is the more logical pick here.
Realme GT 7 Pro vs Motorola Edge 50 Ultra: Performance
Realme GT 7 Pro | Motorola Edge 50 Ultra
Processor | Snapdragon 8 Elite | Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 |
Graphics | Adreno 830 | Adreno 735 |
RAM | 12GB/16GB LPDDR5X | 12GB LPDDR5X RAM |
Storage | 256GB/512GB UFS 4.0 | 512GB UFS 4.0 |
AnTuTu | 2799236 | 1498682 |
As you can see in the bar graphs above, the Realme GT 7 Pro with Snapdragon 8 Elite has Motorola Edge 50 Ultra’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 beat in every single benchmark test. The Realme GT 7 Pro scored almost double what the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 scored in AnTuTu. The same story is repeated in Geekbench scores as well.
During the benchmarking tests, the Realme GT 7 Pro maintained 76% of its maximum performance, which is commendable. On the other hand, the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra managed to maintain 81% of its maximum performance.
Both smartphones will impress casual users with their regular performance. However, those who want raw performance and extra power, like professional gamers or content creators, will be better off with the Realme GT 7 Pro.
Realme GT 7 Pro vs Motorola Edge 50 Ultra: Software
Realme GT 7 Pro | Motorola Edge 50 Ultra
Software | Realme UI 6.0 based on Android 15 | Hello UI based on Android 14 |
OS Updates | Three years of OS updates | Three years of OS updates |
Security Updates | Four years of Security updates | Four years of Security updates |
While Realme GT 7 Pro comes with Android 15 out of the box, the Edge 50 Ultra has a year older Android 14. This means the latter will get support only up to Android 17, not Android 18 like Realme, despite having the same software update cycle.
Realme has fine-tuned its Realme UI 6.0 with a revamped interface, improved animations, and tons of new customisation options, including Flux Themes. Riding on the current hype train of AI features, the Realme UI 6.0 also gets its share of AI-backed features like AI Sketch and AI Eraser. The only drawback here is the bloatware and spammy notifications, even though it’s a flagship device.
While Motorola Edge 50 Ultra comes with dated software and will receive one less Android update, it will appeal to Android purists. The near-stock Hello UI offers a clean, clutter-free, bloatware-free experience. Moreover, Motorola has added interesting features like an AI wallpaper generator, smart connect, family space, and more.
While Realme GT 7 Pro has an advantage in terms of an additional Android update assured, Motorola’s near-stock Android experience and bloatware-free experience turn the tide in favour of Motorola here.

|

The Motorola Edge 50 Ultra is a camera monster on paper. The camera system’s regular daylight and night shots are impressive, with impressive dynamic range, close-to-reality colour accuracy, and ample details.
The wide-angle sensor slightly increased light sensitivity, leading to slightly softer images at times. Additionally, the telephoto camera has a contrast boost, which affects colour accuracy. That said, the telephoto camera takes stunning portrait shots without activating the portrait mode.
For selfies, the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra performs well as long as the lighting conditions are favourable. You get a good dynamic range, almost natural skin tones, and accurate colours. However, as the sun goes down, so does the quality of selfies.
The Realme GT 7 Pro is a stellar smartphone camera smartphone. The primary and wide-angle cameras consistently produce vibrant and well-exposed pictures. Even the telephoto lens produces near-accurate images with respectable HDR and can also take stupendous portrait shots.
The drawbacks include washed-out details in 8MP wide-angle shots, noise and blurriness in dimly lit situations, etc. As for the selfies, we had no complaints as the 16MP selfie shooter captures decent shots.
In the camera department, the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra wins by a landslide, thanks to its higher-resolution camera sensors.
