The Realme GT 7 Pro is priced at Rs 20,000 higher than the GT 6. But it is worth noting that the upgrades present in the GT 7 Pro put it in the true flagship segment instead of the flagship killer. But, if this price difference is too much, the Realme GT 6 is a better choice. Let’s look at all the upgrades and improvements to see whether the Realme GT 7 Pro is worth the extra premium.
Realme GT 7 Pro vs Realme GT 6: Build and Design
Device | Realme GT 7 Pro | Realme GT 6 |

The Realme GT 7 Pro has a glass back panel and a single-glass piece covering the rear camera module. It carries a Mars-inspired design and offers a premium in-hand feel with its aluminium frame. It is comfortable to hold in hand and does not feel bulky, even though it is heavier by 20 grams than its predecessor.
The Realme GT 6 has a similar glass-sandwich design and offers premium looks. The back panel is more curvy, which makes it feel slimmer. The rear camera module has a glossy covering and uses individual glass lenses for each sensor.
Since design is subjective, it’s not easy to determine a clear winner. But both devices offer a solid and premium in-hand feel.

The Realme GT 7 Pro has a quad-curved AMOLED screen. It produces punchy colours and deep blacks. The phone supports HDR playback in Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and other apps. It also gets super bright in outdoor conditions. The 120Hz refresh rate feels smooth to scroll and we did not face any lags or stutters.
The Realme GT 6 has the same resolution AMOLED panel but uses a dual-curved design. The curvature is comparatively higher than the GT 7 Pro. Some users may like this while some may not. We did not face any accidental touches or smudges, though. The screen produces rich colours and we enjoyed streaming movies on it. It also feels smooth to scroll.
Apart from the change in the design, the actual display has almost remained unchanged. Both phones offer an immersive viewing experience with their OLED screens and get equally bright in direct sunlight. You won’t be disappointed with either of them. Another difference is that the GT 7 Pro uses Gorilla Glass 7i, while the GT 6 has Gorilla Glass Victus 2, but each offers equally good protection against scratches and cracks.
Realme GT 7 Pro vs Realme GT 6: Performance
Device | Realme GT 7 Pro | Realme GT 6 |
Processor | Snapdragon 8 Elite | Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 |
Architecture | 3nm, TSMC | 4nm, TSMC |
GPU | Adreno 830 | Adreno 735 |
This is the biggest difference between the two devices. The Realme GT 7 Pro features the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. It is the most powerful chipset for Android phones in the market right now. Our experience with the GT 7 Pro was super smooth for daily usage. The device also supports 120fps gaming in BGMI, COD: Mobile, and other games. However, it does get warm after a while but does not show any thermal throttling.
The Realme GT 6 with Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 also performs well for daily usage. We did not face any lags or stutters with social media usage and multitasking. However, most games are limited to 90fps, and 120fps support is unlikely to arrive. This is because the GPU on this chipset is two generations older. You can check out the benchmark scores for more perspective:
If you are a casual user who plays light games and uses a lot of social media, the Realme GT 6 will not disappoint you for its price. But if gaming is a priority, you should get the Realme GT 7 Pro as it’s almost 60% faster and more powerful, which is also visible in benchmarks.
Realme GT 7 Pro vs Realme GT 6: Software
Device | Realme GT 7 Pro | Realme GT 6 |
Android version | Realme UI 6.0, Android 15 | Realme UI 5.0, Android 14 |
Number of updates | 3 Android updates, 4 years of security patches | 3 Android updates, four years of security patches |
The Realme GT 7 Pro runs the latest OS, which is well-optimised. It does come with some pre-loaded bloatware apps, but they can be uninstalled. The GT 7 Pro has AI-powered features such as AI Sketch to Image, AI Unblur, AI Zoom, and more. These work great and come in handy when required, especially the camera features. The phone also supports Gemini integration.
The Realme GT 6 was among the first set of devices to have AI features. The phone currently runs Realme UI 5.0 based on Android 14, and will soon receive the latest Realme UI 6.0 update. AI features include AI Night Vision, AI Smart Removal, and more. The software feels refined and polished for daily usage, but the bloatware problem is present here too and needs to be deleted manually.
Both phones offer a similar software experience, but the better chipset on the GT 7 Pro has improved support and performance in AI features, especially Google Gemini, compared to the GT 6.
Although both devices have the same software update cycle, the Realme GT 7 Pro is eligible for up to Android 18, while the GT 6 will be limited to just Android 17. So if you want to experience the latest features, you should get the Realme GT 7 Pro.
Realme GT 7 Pro vs Realme GT 6: Cameras
Device | Realme GT 7 Pro | Realme GT 6 |
Primary rear camera | 50MP f/1.8, OIS | 50MP f/1.7, OIS |
Ultrawide lens | 8MP f/2.2 | 8MP f/2.2 |
Telephoto lens | 50MP f/2.7, OIS, 3x optical zoom | 50MP f/2.0, 2x optical zoom |
Video recording | 8K 24fps | 4K 30fps |
Selfie camera | 16MP f/2.5 | 32MP f/2.5 |
The primary camera on the Realme GT 7 Pro captures crisp images in broad daylight. The photos retain a good amount of detail and the colour tones are closer to real life. The dynamic range is excellent in harsh lighting conditions. The telephoto lens also does a great job in zooming and offers great results in portrait shots. However, the shutter speed can be slower in dark conditions, but the images are usable and can be posted directly on social media.
The Realme GT 6 uses a similar setup. Images during the day look excellent. However, the dynamic range is not as good as the GT 7 Pro, especially in darker areas of an image. Photos shot during the night can feel artificially brightened. While this helps capture more details in the dark, the results are not consistent. The telephoto lens is limited to 2x optical zoom and captures impressive portrait images.
The Realme GT 7 Pro’s cameras are more refined and offer better consistency. The Realme GT 6 is not bad either but if you want a camera companion that is reliable for all conditions, you should get the GT 7 Pro.
Realme GT 7 Pro vs Realme GT 6: Battery and Charging
Device | Realme GT 7 Pro | Realme GT 6 |
Battery | 5,800mAh | 5,500mAh |
Charging wattage | 120W wired | 120W wired |
Time taken for 0-100% | 34 minutes | 43 minutes |
The Realme GT 7 Pro can easily serve you an entire day of usage. In our testing, we used the phone for social media, an hour of gaming, normal camera usage, and other regular usage for messaging. The phone consistently served 6 hours of screen-on-time. The charging time is also excellent; you can get a full charge in just half an hour.
The Realme GT 6 also offers a good battery life. With the same kind of usage, the device provided us with a screen-on-time of 5.5 hours. However, the charging speed is slower, considering it uses the same wattage and a smaller capacity battery. While both phones are neck-to-neck here, the Realme GT 7 Pro’s bigger battery makes it a better choice.
Both phones come with a charger in the box. However, neither of them supports wireless charging.
Realme GT 7 Pro vs Realme GT 6: Verdict
The Realme GT 7 Pro is indeed the better of the two, with its 60% faster performance, improved cameras, larger battery, and one extra Android update. It also has better support for modern AI features. However, these upgrades come at a premium of Rs 20,000.
If you are a gamer or wish to have the latest Gemini AI features or photo-editing functionalities, the Realme GT 7 Pro is worth the extra money.
But if you don’t like gaming and are looking for a powerful phone for heavy social media usage, the Realme GT 6 is still a good choice, and that too at a lower price!
