Android 15 Tracker: This is When Your Samsung Phone Will Get the Latest Android Version

Samsung recently held its annual Samsung Developer Conference 2024 earlier this year. This year, the chaebol went off the beaten track by announcing that there won’t be any major UI version launch this year. For the uninitiated, the company has launched a new UI update every year since One UI 3.0. While Samsung teased the Android 15-based One UI 7 at the event, it confirmed that it will not have a public release in 2024. Here’s everything you need to know, from the One UI 7 release date and eligible devices to expected features.

Samsung Android 15-based One UI 7 Release Date

At the SDC 2024, Samsung announced that the Android 15-based One UI 7 is the most significant update from the brand in years. According to the South Korean brand, the software needs more development time before it’s rolled out to the general public.

However, the company confirmed that the One UI 7 will be available with the “new Galaxy.” This means that the upcoming Galaxy S25 series will boot the latest One UI 7 out of the box, and we can expect other devices to start receiving it soon after.

Samsung has also confirmed that the One UI 7 beta update will be available for developers by the end of this year. However, users need to register via the Samsung Members app to participate in the beta program.

Samsung Android 15-based One UI 7 Features (Expected)

With One UI 7, Samsung is officially changing the entire UX design with an overhauled user interface, animations, icons, and more. The company will also introduce the split-style notification panel, where users can swipe down from left to right to see notifications and the quick settings panel, respectively.

We will also see an overhauled camera interface, a new pill-shaped battery icon, and new Galaxy AI features. Other rumoured features include a new Cloud app and improved parental controls.
