Samsung Galaxy M17 Performance Review: Benchmarks, Gaming, And More!

Samsung recently launched the Galaxy M17 as a new addition to the brand’s affordable lineup, the Galaxy M series. The phone packs a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate, an Exynos 1330 processor, a triple camera setup, and a 5,000mAh battery. You get all of this together, packed in the Galaxy M17 at a starting price of Rs 14,499.

But we all know that devices don’t always perform as they sound in on-paper specifications. So, we also ran some performance tests on the Galaxy M17 to see where it stands in the budget segment.

Samsung Galaxy M17 Performance Test

Starting with AnTuTu, the Galaxy M17 has scored just below 6 lakh points. Now, if we compare these numbers with the iQOO Z10x and Infinix Note 50x’s numbers, the Samsung Galaxy M17 wasn’t very powerful. In Geekbench 6 as well, the phone scores 982 in single-core and 2031 in multi-core, which is again slightly low for this price point.

For gaming, we tested BGMI on the smartphone, and surprisingly, the Galaxy M13 only supports up to 30 FPS. As far as the frame consistency is concerned, it performs great, but 30 FPS feels underpowered. This should have been at least 60 FPS, although in this price range, 90 FPS has become very normal.

So this is what Galaxy M17’s raw performance looks like. Let’s see what wonders the battery can do.

Samsung Galaxy M17 Battery Test

As mentioned earlier, the Samsung Galaxy M17 is packed with a 5000 mAh battery, which comes with 25 watts of fast charging support. In our testing, the Galaxy M17 lasted for over 10 hours in the PC Mark Battery Life test, with 20% battery still remaining.

This means if your usage is moderate, you can use this smartphone for a full day on a single charge. But if there’s some heavy usage involved in your day-to-day use, you might have to charge it more than once a day. Speaking of the charging, the Galaxy M17 charges from 0 to 100% in about 90-95 minutes.

Verdict

To sum it up, the Samsung Galaxy M17 is not some performance beast, so it might not impress you when it comes to raw performance. But if your usage is only content consumption, casual gaming, and scrolling through social media, the Galaxy M13 is fluid in that case.
