This week, we witnessed a series of exciting, revolutionary smartphone unveilings. Fortunately, this excitement will remain in the third week of May. From OnePlus to Infinix to Xiaomi, every brand is geared up to make a lasting impression in the upcoming days with their thrilling new phones. Unfortunately, these launches are all out of India-bound. But we never know if these handsets will make their way to India. So, what are we waiting for? Let’s check them out.
OnePlus Ace 5 Racing Edition and Ace 5 Ultra
OnePlus will expand its existing Ace 5 series with two new powerful additions, Racing Edition and Ultra, in China next week. The Ace 5 Racing Edition is confirmed to draw performance from the MediaTek Dimensity 9400e processor, which will debut in India with the Realme GT 7 on 27 May (article). Meanwhile, a Geekbench listing discovered weeks ago has revealed that the Ace 5 Ultra will rely on the MediaTek Dimensity 9400+, which also powers phones like the OPPO Find X8s and the Vivo X200s.
Both smartphones will support a 120Hz refresh rate. While the Racing Edition will feature a 6.77-inch OLED display with a 1080p resolution, the Ace 5 Ultra will have a 6.83-inch OLED panel with 1.5K resolution.
They will both run on a 7,000mAh battery, but the charging speeds will differ: 80W for the Racing Edition and 120W for the Ultra.
The camera arrangement is rumoured to be the same on both phones: 50-megapixel dual cameras with a 16-megapixel front snapper.
Infinix GT 30 Pro
Infinix will debut the successor to its highly popular gaming phone, the GT 20 Pro, in Malaysia on 21 May. As per the marketing materials, the GT 30 Pro will feature two capacitive shoulder triggers. They are remappable and can also be used to execute quick shortcuts like taking photographs. Besides, the handset is confirmed to flaunt a cyber-mechanical design on its rear side. It will sport a dynamic lighting system with more than 20 customisable lighting effects.
The Infinix GT 30 Pro is expected to depend on the MediaTek Dimensity 8350 processor for performance, paired with up to 12GB of RAM. It could feature a 6.78-inch AMOLED screen with a 144Hz refresh rate and a 1.5K resolution. The entire system may run on an improved 5,500mAh battery with support for faster 67W fast charging.
Xiaomi Civi 5 Pro
Xiaomi is reportedly set to launch the Civi 5 Pro in China on 22 May. According to Lu Weibing, partner of Xiaomi, it will rival the vanilla iPhone in the Chinese market. A report by 91Mobiles has disclosed that the Civi 5 Pro will feature the upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor, coupled with 16GB of RAM.
The phone will have a 1.5K quad narrow screen with a pill-shaped punch hole cutout. Its rear camera module will house a 50-megapixel telephoto camera with a 60mm focal length. It will draw energy from a 6,000+ mAh battery. Its listing on the 3C certification also suggests that it may support 67W fast charging.
iQOO Neo 10 Pro+
iQOO will launch the Neo 10 Pro+ in China on 20 May with the aim of taking its Neo series to the next level. Its Weibo post has confirmed that this smartphone will be the first Neo device with a BMW M Motorsport edition. It will come in three colours: White, Black, and Super Pixel (Blue colour).
The iQOO Neo 10 Pro+ is confirmed to arrive with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset alongside the Q2 supercomputing chip. Various reports anticipate it may flaunt a 6.82-inch 2K display with a punch-hole design. It is said to utilise a 7,000mAh battery for energy, which supports 120W super-fast charging. It may have a 50-megapixel primary camera with OIS and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide snapper. The display is expected to house a 16-megapixel selfie camera.
