In terms of display, the TECNO PHANTOM V Flip 2 has retained the same inner display as its processor. However, it comes with significant changes as it has a larger cover screen, which is more than double the size of the V Flip 5G.

• The TECNO PHANTOM V Flip 2 is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8020 SoC fabricated on a 6nm process. The SoC has four Cortex A78 cores, four Cortex A55 cores, and a Mali G77 MC9 GPU. It is paired with 8GB of RAM and 512GB of UFS internal storage with virtual RAM support.
• The TECNO PHANTOM V Flip 5G packs the MediaTek Dimensity 8050 SoC. It is also fabricated on a 6nm process and sports one Cortex A78 core, another three Cortex A78 cores, four Cortex A55 cores, and a Mali G77 MC9 GPU. The device comes with LPDDR4X RAM, UFS 3.1 internal storage, and supports virtual RAM expansion.

The MediaTek Dimensity 8020 and Dimensity 8050 SoCs on both smartphones sport identical CPU cores. Both smartphones are expected to perform similarly in the real world. We have yet to compare the benchmark and real-world performance of both phones, so, stay tuned.

The device also packs a larger battery with faster charging, several AI features, and more to meet modern standards. So, if you are looking for the latest one with the upgrades, the PHANTOM V Flip 2 should be chosen.

However, existing TECNO PHANTOM V Flip 5G users aren’t advised to upgrade to the latest version as the upgrades aren’t massive. That said, it is an excellent choice for buyers seeking a clamshell-style foldable smartphone within a budget of under Rs 30,000.
