We got the V40e in the Royal Bronze colour, which looks super-premium, similar to the Desert Titanium variant of the latest iPhone 16 Pro. It has subtle curves on the back panel, which provides an ergonomic and comfortable grip.
The Infinix Zero 40 5G is an eye-catcher with its massive dial-shaped camera module on the back. Our unit in the purple colour looks elegant and fresh, and also rare to find on a phone. The curvature on the back panel is similar to the Vivo V40e, accounting for a similar in-hand feel.
The Vivo V40e and the Infinix Zero 40 5G feel very lightweight with their even weight distribution. Vivo offers a slightly better IP rating, but the water resistance is the same on either of them. Looks-wise, both smartphones offer a premium feel, so, its up to you which one you prefer.

The display on the Vivo V40e impressed us with its colours. It offers deep blacks and a rich contrast. The screen gets adequately bright outdoors and offers good visibility. However, the screen does not have any special protection for durability.
The Infinix Zero 40 5G offers a slightly higher contrast and punchier colours. The blacks are super deep, but the bezels are comparatively thicker here. Even though the device comes with a 144Hz display, most apps were running only at 120fps in our testing.
If you like natural and optimal contrast, the Vivo V40e is a good choice. If you prefer higher contrast and eye-catching colours, you will like the Infinix Zero 40 50G more. The colour profiles can be adjusted slightly to your preference on both devices from the settings.

The Infinix Zero 40 5G can reproduce stunning images in bright light. The colours have less saturation compared to the Vivo V40e, but the photos in themselves look glamorous. It captures an excellent amount of detail, and the dynamic range is impressive, even while taking images of the bright sky. The ultra-wide lens does a better job here by retaining more details and natural colours, compared to the Vivo V40e. The selfies are equally good, and social-media ready.

When compared across all scenarios, the primary rear camera on the Vivo V40e is more versatile and reliable than the Infinix Zero 40 5G. However, the higher-resolution ultrawide lens adds more flexibility and better results. During our benchmark testing, the Infinix Zero 40 5G scored significantly higher in AnTuTu v10 than the Vivo V40e. While the Geekbench single-core results were similar, Infinix again takes a huge edge in multi-core performance. Here are the detailed benchmark scores of both phones:
The Vivo V40e offers a smooth experience in daily usage. It maintained a 92% performance in our CPU throttling test. However, the device is not suitable for gaming. Even though it supports 60fps gaming, we faced some lags and stutters and the overall gaming experience was not so good.
The Infinix Zero 40 5G offered a more stable gaming experience. It was able to maintain a consistent frame rate of around 60fps in both BGMI and CODM. The day-to-day usage is also butter smooth, and we do not face any lags or stutters during our usage.
The Infinix Zero 40 5G has a more powerful processor, which is evident from benchmarks and our gaming tests. If raw performance is your priority, then the Infinix Zero 40 5G is an obvious choice instead of the Vivo V40e.

The Vivo 40e has a larger battery and supports faster charging speeds. It easily served us with an entire day’s usage. The device lasted for 18 hours and 22 minutes in our PCMark Battery test.
The Infinix Zero 40 5G has a smaller battery, but it is enough to get you through en entire day. The added flexibility of wireless charging is a good thing to have, especially at this price.

The Vivo V40e (Full Review) offers a premium design, an excellent display, and an impressive primary rear camera. The UI is neat and the device will receive software updates for four years. The larger battery capacity is also helpful, especially when you are outdoors. However, the device is not suitable for gaming.
The Infinix Zero 40 5G (Full Review) has an equally good display with additional Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It offers a better camera setup with a higher resolution ultrawide lens which comes in handy on certain occasions. The device is an excellent performer in gaming and offers a smooth 60fps gaming experience. The extra RAM and double storage make it a more value-for-money choice.
Overall, the Infinix Zero 40 5G is a better package than the Vivo 40e.
