Vivo X200 Pro vs Vivo X100 Pro: Design and Build

• The Vivo X200 Pro sports a glass fiber design with an aluminium alloy frame. The device has a large camera module and gets an IP69 + IP68 dust and water resistance. It comes in Titanium Grey and Cosmos Black shades with 8.49/8.2 mm thickness and 228/223 grams weight.
• The Vivo X100 Pro also has an identical design with an aluminium alloy frame and glass panel. It is available in a lone Asteroid Black shade with 8.91 mm thickness and 225 grams weight. The phone also sports IP68 dust and water resistance.

The Vivo X200 Pro’s design has remained largely unchanged from its predecessor. The only distinguishable factor is the addition of the IP69 rating. Both also share common features, including NFC and IR blaster connectivity.

• The Vivo X200 Pro features a 6.78-inch quad-curved AMOLED display with 1.5K+ resolution and an 8T LTPO 0.1-120Hz refresh rate. Both the Vivo X200 Pro and the Vivo X100 Pro come with identical resolution and 8T LTPO support. However, the Vivo X200 Pro now sports a quad-curved panel with a 0.1Hz to 120Hz refresh rate and an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. It also has an armoured glass with 11x more stability and drop resistance. Both smartphones have a stereo speaker setup with Hi-Res audio support.

• The Vivo X200 Pro sports the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 SoC paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 internal storage. It is fabricated on a 3nm process and has one Cortex X925 core, three Cortex X4 cores, four Cortex A720 cores, and an Immortalis G925 GPU. It also has a security chip for chip-level protection and an advanced Vivo V3+ imaging chipset.
• The Vivo X100 Pro comes with the MediaTek Dimensity 9300 SoC built on a 4nm process and paired with similar RAM and storage type. The SoC features one Cortex X4 core, another three Cortex X4 cores, four Cortex A720 cores, and a Mali-G720 Immortalis MP12 GPU. It also has the in-house Vivo V3 imaging chipset, which supports game frame interpolation.

The Vivo X200 Pro will be more power efficient, as it houses the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 SoC built on a newer 3nm process. The chipset is also claimed to offer 28% and 41% improved CPU and GPU performance, respectively. It also has the NPU 890 AI processor, which produces 50 Tokens/s and consumes 35% less power.

• The Vivo X200 Pro runs on FunTouch OS 15, which is based on Android 15 out of the box. It is eligible for four OS upgrades and five years of security patch updates.

Its primary camera has been upgraded, with a 400% increase in dynamic range and a 52.5% improvement in noise reduction.

Vivo X200 Pro vs Vivo X100 Pro: Battery and Charging

• The Vivo X200 Pro has a 6,000mAh semi-solid-state battery with a high-efficiency buffer structure. It supports 90W FlashCharge wired and 30W wireless fast charging.
• The Vivo X100 Pro packs a relatively smaller 5,400mAh battery with 100W FlashCharge wired and 50 FlashCharge wireless fast charging tech. It is claimed to charge from 0 to 50% in 14 minutes.

The Vivo X200 Pro has the advantage of including a larger battery, which meets modern flagship standards. However, Vivo has downgraded the smartphone’s wired and wireless fast charging capabilities.

Vivo X200 Pro vs Vivo X100 Pro: Verdict

To sum up, the Vivo X200 Pro comes with several upgrades despite costing less than its predecessor. It has an upgraded MediaTek SoC and an advanced V3+ imaging chipset. The smartphone also has a new quad-curved display, which is brighter and protected by Armour glass. It also has a longer software update policy and multiple AI features.

In contrast, the Vivo X100 Pro, despite being its predecessor, has faster wired and wireless charging tech. The device also has a 4.3x optical zoom for the periscope telephoto camera as opposed to the 3.7x optical zoom on the Vivo X200 Pro. The Vivo X200 Pro has no significant improvements, which makes it not recommended to upgrade from the Vivo X100 Pro.
