Samsung Galaxy Unpacked: What to Expect, Time, and More

Samsung Unpacked 2024 is around the corner and the South Korean giant will introduce its new slate of Z Fold, Z Flip, Galaxy Watches, Galaxy Buds, and even a smart ring! The event is scheduled for tomorrow and details of most devices have been out on the web. Let’s check out what to expect from this year’s Unpacked event.

Samsung Galaxy Unpacked: Time, Where to Watch

The Galaxy Unpacked event will take place on July 10, that is, tomorrow in Paris, France. It can be watched via the Samsung YouTube channel and Samsung Newsroom from 6:30 pm IST.

Samsung Galaxy Unpacked: What to Expect

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 has leaked plenty of times and will more or less resemble its predecessor. The Galaxy Z Fold 6 is said to come with a boxier design similar to the Galaxy S24 Ultra while keeping the same foldable formula intact.

It is also expected to ship with similar display sizes to its predecessor but with much brighter panels and an anti-reflective coating, much like the S24 Ultra. The phone was spotted on Geekbench recently, which once again confirmed that the phone is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 which is paired with 12GB of RAM. We can expect minor improvements in the camera and battery. The Z Fold 6 is said to come in these colour variants: Blue, Mint, Yellow, White, Crafted Black and Silver Shadow.

There was also a report, which suggested that a Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra is possibly in the works. However, we are not sure if this will happen or not.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 seems to keep the design changes minimal, according to leaks. The phone is expected to bring an updated and brighter 6.7-inch screen and will be powered by the same Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, as revealed by a Geekbench listing. The cover screen was previously reported to get a size upgrade, but the new leaked renders suggest that might not be the case.

It doesn’t seem like the cameras will get a refresh, and the battery is expected to have a small bump while charging speeds would remain the same. What might be changing are the prices, with the new Z Flip expected to cost a bit more. The Galaxy Z Flip 6 is said to come in these colour variants: Pink, Navy, Peach and Silver Shadow.

Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra and Galaxy Watch 7

Samsung is going after the premium smartwatch market with the Apple Watch Ultra competitor, the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra. The Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra was also previously leaked and is said to come with a bigger 47mm casing, making it the biggest Galaxy Watch yet.

It was reported last year that Samsung plans to use a micro-LED display, we will wait for the event to know more about the display technology.

It is expected to keep the same circular dials but the outer casing will have a squircle form factor. It will come in White, Grey and Orange colours. It will also come with funky “new” straps.

The Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 may go the simple route, with no major changes to the dials and casing. But the straps are new and look similar to Galaxy Watch Ultra’s ones. The Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra and the Galaxy Watch 7 will come with Samsung’s new BioActive sensor, which Samsung says will bring better preventative health experiences. It is a new, improved sensor, which uses more LEDs for better precision health tracking.

Samsung Galaxy Ring

The Samsung Galaxy Ring has been in the works at Samsung for a long time. Even though the company showcased the Galaxy Ring in January, Galaxy Unpacked will be the official launch of the new health-tracking device.

Samsung mentioned that the Ring will come in black, gold, or silver colours and weigh between 2.3g and 3g, depending on the size of the Ring (it will be available in different sizes, of course).

Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 Pro & Galaxy Buds 3

Samsung is switching up a few things for Galaxy Buds 3 Pro and Galaxy Buds 3. These will now feature a more traditional TWS design with the stem. They’re also expected to have a translucent design for the case. The Galaxy Buds 3 Pro was previously leaked in a gunmetal grey colour, while the Buds 3 surfaced in white. We can expect more colours for these devices, though.

Galaxy AI

Samsung was quick to jump on the AI bandwagon and Galaxy AI was the most talked about feature with the Galaxy S24 series launch. We can expect more AI features coming to Samsung phones, not just Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6.

Samsung has previously confirmed that the AI features will be free until 2025, and there has been chatter about a premium version of Galaxy AI in the works at Samsung. We might hear more about that at Unpacked.
