Apple Intelligence Features May Take a Little Longer to Launch: Gurman

Highlights
  • Apple Intelligence might roll out alongside the iOS 18.1 update.
  • Apple was previously tipped to roll out the features in a staggered manner.

Apple announced the Apple Intelligence at the WWDC 2024 event, which brings artificial intelligence features into Apple devices. Mark Gurman, a popular analyst, has revealed that the upcoming AI features will arrive later than expected.

Apple Intelligence Rollout Delayed

The analyst revealed through a report from Bloomberg that Apple might not rollout the Apple Intelligence (AI) features with the iOS 18, which will be rolled out to the public alongside the launch of the iPhone 16 series. The Cupertino giant is now planning to rollout the features alongside the iOS 18.1 update.

The iOS 18.1 update is expected to rollout to the public by October 2024, which gives enough time for the Cupertino giant to fix the bugs. However, Apple is expected to roll out the limited artificial intelligence features to the developers with the iOS 18.1 update coming this week.

Apple is said to roll out features like Image Playground and Genmoji with the developer update coming this week. The brand is expected to complete the development of iOS 18 by the end of July. The early completion of iOS 18 will allow Apple to include the latest iOS version with the next-gen iPhones launching at the September event.

The analyst reiterates that Apple will not roll out significant changes to Siri with the intelligence features rolling out in October. Since these details aren’t official, it’s best to take them with a grain of salt and wait for what Apple does. We will keep you posted, so, stay tuned.
