Apple is set to kick off the WWDC 2024 event on Monday, June 10 to unveil the iOS 18, iPadOS 18, watchOS 11, and more. Ahead of the event, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, in a new report, claims that the Cupertino tech giant will unveil a new Passwords app for iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS. Let us take a look at the details.

Upcoming Apple Passwords App: All You Need to Know

It is revealed that the upcoming Passwords app will be powered by the iCloud Keychain. The app will make it easier for users to access the saved login passwords. For those unaware, the Passwords functionality has been there in iOS, iPadOS, and macOS for a long time but accessing it is a three-step process. A separate app will help users access passwords with just a tap.

Gurman further reveals that the upcoming Passwords app will split logins into categories such as Accounts, Wi-Fi networks, and Passkeys. The Passwords app aims to unify all login details under one app. The current version of iOS and iPadOS doesn’t show Wi-Fi passwords and details under the Passwords section.

It will also be compatible with iOS, macOS, iPadOS, the Vision Pro headset, and Windows computers. The app will reportedly allow users to import saved passwords from other services. With this, Apple wants to take on the likes of other popular password apps like 1Password and LastPass. It remains to be seen how well the app fares against the competition.

Apple is also expected to announce its partnership with OpenAI at WWDC and the event will majorly be focused on AI. We will be covering all the announcements from WWDC on Monday. So, stay tuned.
