After establishing a presence in Delhi’s Saket and Mumbai’s BKC, Apple is now planning to expand its retail footprint to Noida’s Mall of India and Pune’s Kopa Mall. Here’s what we know so far.
Apple’s Retail Presence Grows with Two New Stores in India
Apple appears to be deepening its roots in India, with a report from Financial Express indicating plans for a new store at Noida’s Mall of India. If confirmed, this would mark the tech giant’s third retail outlet in the country.
The next phase of expansion could see a fourth store launching in Pune’s Kopa Mall. That’s not all—Apple is also expected to set up shop in Bengaluru and add another outlet in Mumbai, bringing the total to six stores.
Fueling this speculation are LinkedIn job listings uncovered by the report, which revealed 20 open positions tied to these locations—eight of them focused on retail roles.
This move isn’t entirely unexpected. Apple’s existing stores in Mumbai’s BKC and Delhi’s Saket have drawn strong footfall and impressive sales figures. In fact, iPhone sales have reportedly tripled in India since 2021.
Meanwhile, Apple is also accelerating local production efforts. Under the government’s Make in India initiative, the company now manufactures all four iPhone 16 models domestically through partners such as Foxconn and Tata Electronics.
With plans to shift up to 25% of its global production to India, Apple’s retail and manufacturing ambitions in the country are clearly just getting started.
