Nothing’s sub-brand CMF has just launched its latest smartphone in India, the CMF Phone 2 Pro. The new mid-range smartphone sports a dual-tone design, improved cameras, and the Dimensity 7300 Pro chipset, which delivers 10 per cent faster CPU performance and 5 per cent better graphics performance than its predecessor, the CMF Phone 1. Also launched at today’s event are the CMF Buds 2, Buds 2a, and Buds 2 Plus.
The CMF Phone 2 Pro retains its predecessor’s ability to attach various accessories via an attachment point in the rear panel. The accessories include a universal cover, interchangeable lenses (only for use with the universal cover), a lanyard, and a wallet and stand (only for use with the universal cover).
CMF Phone 2 Pro: Key features, what’s new
- CMF claims the Phone 2 Pro comes with the segment’s largest and brightest display: a 6.7-inch full-HD+ AMOLED panel with a refresh rate of 120Hz, a 1000 Hz touch sampling rate, and an optical in-display fingerprint sensor.
- The CMF Phone 2 Pro incorporates an advanced cooling system with a
heat pipe that transfers heat away from the SoC. There is also a cryogenic frame on the side of the device, and a highly thermally conductive graphite material on the front and back of the device. - The Phone 2 Pro runs Nothing OS 3.2 based on Android 15 out of the box, and CMF has promised three years of Android updates and six years of security patches. There are also some AI experiences onboard, including Nothing’s exclusive ‘Essential Space’, which organises your tasks, events, and memories in one place.
- In line with the brand’s ‘Colour, Material, Finish’ moniker, the smartphone features a dual-tone finish at the back, a modular build with visible screws, and a customisable ‘Essential Key’ on the right panel. At 7.8 mm, it is also the slimmest Nothing smartphone ever.
- On the imaging front, the CMF Phone 2 Pro has a triple rear camera setup with a 50-megapixel primary sensor with a sensor size of 1/1.57”, which CMF claims is the largest in the segment, a 50-megapixel telephoto sensor with 2x optical zoom, and an 8-megapixel ultrawide camera with a 119.5 degree field of view. Up front, there is a 16-megapixel selfie camera.
- Other features include 8GB of RAM and a 5,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging. Notably, the fast charger is included in the box, which is a rare occurrence these days.
