POCO X7 Series Launch Date
The POCO X7 series will be launched on January 9 globally, including in India. The brand is expected to unveil the POCO X7 and the POCO X7 Pro smartphones in the market. POCO India officials have confirmed the brand would not launch the POCO X7 Neo smartphone in the POCO X7 lineup. The landing page of the POCO X7 Pro has gone live on Flipkart, confirming its online availability.

Nothing OS 3.0 Gets New Feature
Nothing recently rolled out the Nothing OS 3.0 based on the Android 15 stable update for the Nothing Phone (2), Phone (2a), and Phone (2a) Plus users. The smartphones now support the popular Circle to Search feature, which can initiate a search from any text, image, or video on your screen. The feature can be accessed by long pressing the home button for users using 3 buttons for navigation.

YouTube is Testing a New Button
Folks at 9to5Google have spotted a new button on the YouTube application on Android. The report reveals a new floating action button with Play Something and a Play icon appeared on the Android application. The text comes in a white shade with a black background. Once the user taps the button, it will start playing videos in Shorts.
The new button is expected to play videos based on your account preferences.
Instagram Inbox Set to Receive New Features
Instagram has announced the rollout of new features for the search bar on the Instagram Inbox. Adam Mosseri, Instagram Head, has confirmed that a search bar to filter out keywords will be rolled out to users in 2025. The upcoming feature will be helpful for creators who receive numerous messages from their followers.

Study Reveals iOS Devices Are More Vulnerable to Phishing Attacks
Lookout, a Boston-based data-centric cloud security company, has found that iOS devices are more exposed to phishing and web content threats than Android. 19% of enterprise iOS devices were exposed to phishing attacks in each of the first three quarters of 2024. In contrast, only 10.9% of enterprise Android devices were exposed to attack in the period.
The report reveals there is a 17% increase in phishing attempts and a 32% increase in the number of malicious app detections since last quarter. It also adds that the mobile threat continues to grow at an alarming rate as cybercrime groups target mobile devices in the early stages of their attacks. Read more here.
