Today, Motorola has revealed the launch date of the Motorola Edge 50 smartphone in India. HMD Global has launched the HMD Crest and HMD Crest Max smartphones in the country. Nothing has confirmed the chipset of the upcoming Nothing Phone (2a) Plus ahead of its launch. Let’s look at the top five important news stories of the day.

Motorola Edge 50 Launch Date

The Motorola Edge 50 will be launched on August 1. It will be available on Flipkart and the Motorola India e-Store. Motorola will equip the smartphone with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 AE processor. The Motorola Edge 50 will sport a 6.67-inch 3D curved pOLED display with 1.5K resolution and 100% DCI P3 colour gamut.

HMD Crest Series Launched

HMD has launched the HMD Crest and HMD Crest Max in India with a 6.67-inch OLED display with FHD+ resolution. The HMD Crest series smartphones are powered by the UniSoC T760 SoC, paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Both get a similar 5,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging tech.

Jio Collaborates with MediaTek

Reliance Jio, the telecom giant in India, has entered into a collaboration with MediaTek to revolutionise the two-wheeler industry with a 4G Smart Android cluster and 4G Smart Module. The upcoming Smart Android cluster and smart Module will be “Made in India.” It will be specially tailored for the two-wheeler market.

The company aims to reach 10,000 crores by the end of 2025 with more than 3 million vehicles on the road with the Smart Android Cluster and Smart Module.

Nothing Phone (2a) Plus SoC Confirmed

Nothing has confirmed the upcoming Nothing Phone (2a) Plus will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7350 Pro SoC. The company claims the Phone (2a) Plus will offer 10% faster performance than the Nothing Phone (2a). Nothing will pair the chipset with up to 12GB of RAM and 8GB of virtual RAM.

The company also claims that the Mali G610 MC4 GPU powering the device will have a peak clock speed of 1.3GHz.

Philips TAX2208 Bluetooth Party Speaker

Philips has introduced the Philips TAX2208 Bluetooth Party Speaker in India with a powerful 30W (Max) sound output. The brand claims the speaker is equipped with Dynamic Bass Boost and Party Light modes. Philips adds that the latest party speaker will offer playback of 7 hours and support true wireless technology.
